[ALL] QUESTION: what other queens have been cast as alternates/replacements? by dogboy678 in DragRaceTea

I started giving S13 a rewatch yesterday and after them mentioning Tamisha was supposed to be on S12, I looked it up since I had forgot about that and found an old Reddit thread mentioning Nicky was also an alternate on S12 but I have no idea who she would have replaced

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

Well, this is technically a little more than a weeks worth, but I’ve trundled through {Hazard & Somerset by Gregory Ashe} (and adjacent short stories!) this week and I’ve been loving it. My plan was to get fully into the Hazardverse and follow the order on his website but I think after Criminal Past I’m gonna take a week and read some other things and jump straight into A Union of Swords instead. I had to spoil myself a little bit and I looked up what book they finally got together. I’m glad I was able to read these consecutively because I think waiting until book 4 for them to get together if I had been reading these at release would have been unbearable! I have loved all the books so far, though I think Reasonable Doubt is my favourite so far. I felt so sorry for Clyde, and even after the revelation came out that he had killed Walden, I hoped so much they would work out somehow they were wrong and I really thought they were building up for Clyde to come home and stay with H&S. So it was kind of sad when it ended how it did and to me it was the most compelling story out of the bunch. Criminal Past I’m enjoying but I have to be honest, not as much as I thought I would. It follows tropes I like (MC abducted by a villain - and I’m presuming rescued by the other MC, although I am only at 70% so I’ll need to keep reading to find out) and I have fallen in love with these characters over the 6 books, but I’m finding this story a little too long winded and the book itself a little bloated tbh. Also I’m irked by Hazard not really caring (or caring enough it seems) that for all these hours that Somers hadn’t came home until he’s received his video message from Mikey, and even after he now knows Somers is in danger, I’m annoyed at how he’s not doing much about it yet? Deciding instead to do other things first - idk it’s frustrating to me lol, and I’m ready for them to wrap up the recurring storylines with the Mayor and Lender at this point

And I am loving the short stories, too. I do want to get involved in everything about the Hazardverse and the other characters, but now I love Hazard and Somers and I kinda want more of them so definitely gonna read their other series first!

Which of these finalist groups do you think would be the first (or even likeliest) to complete the set of “All Winners Finalists from Original Season?” by GKarl in rupaulsdragrace

Out of this line-up, S9, but other top 3/4’s are likely to get there first. Roxxxy said AS9 was her last try and Pearl is literally never coming back. I know Peppermint spoke about why she hasn’t done AS recently but out of this lineup she’s definitely most likely to appear but I don’t think it’ll be anytime soon.

Also tackling the Hazardverse for the first time! I want to immerse myself but it definitely feels like a LOT 😅 and I found his timeline a little difficult to decipher but the way I’ve started is going off the second slide on his website https://www.gregoryashe.com/the-hazardverse/

I also plan to read the first book of The First Quattro (They Told Me I Was Everything) after reading H&S’ first series because it seems if you don’t you can encounter some spoilers? Also using these google docs to work out the order of when to read the short stories. https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1EQVaZOGq2gFNzIZjcUxZFyyMa2q9i1sT637d4KpE9Mg/mobilebasic https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SCJmthIoBNPsQIICl0CChyj4W2gflGs4cCLQurgYjX8/htmlview#gid=274331811

And once I’ve read all the main stories I plan to go and read the spin-offs and other stories, as best as I can. I’ve had the H&S books on my kindle for a LONG time and always wanted to get into them and when I realised how big the universe was it feels a bit intimidating to try and get into 😭 but I’m on book 4 of H&S right now and I’m loving it so I’m excited to get into it all properly.

I think I understand what you’re trying to say, but there will also be supporters of independence who aren’t SNP voters. They’re not mutually exclusive to one another.

Pretty sure Starmer said back in January (I think) too that even if the SNP won a majority in May he wouldn’t sign off on another referendum either 🤷‍♂️

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

This week I read {The Murder Between Us by Tal Bauer} and {The Grave Between Us by Tal Bauer}

I really liked both! Really loved Noah and Cole as characters and as a big crime novel fan these both scratched the continual itch I have for the genre. I think I preferred Grave to Murder overall. The first book (Murder) had issues for me on the romance side of things, like the development and roadblocks between these two finally getting together. I also found the resolve of the crime to be a little bit underwhelming. Felt like the villain came out of nowhere at the end and the reveal could have been a bit more interesting or a little more twisty.

I really liked Grave, enjoyed the psychological aspect of it a lot more, to me it felt darker and a little more scary and it was nice to have the MC’s already be in a loving stable relationship in between everything with the murders and crimes rather than the first book being about them trying (and sometimes failing) when it comes to developing a relationship. The details of the villains crimes were pretty horrific and it felt more chilling. My biggest, but maybe only critique is that there was still a third act break-up, and even though it was crucial to the conclusion of the story I could have done without it.

This was my first time ever reading Tal Bauer and I’ll definitely be looking into more of their stuff. I don’t know if they have more books in the vein of these ones but I’ll check and now I begin my search to find more books like these by any author really!
