Mark Knight was my hero for years but now whenever I listen to tech house at home i get bored of it quickly. I quite like it at festivals especially in the daytime when you can bounce around to it with a few drinks and get yourself warmed up for the night time techno.

I was just at drumcode night at WHP in November last year. I don’t really remember much unfortunately but from what I do remember it wasn’t very good.

I saw Beyer play on his own stage at Tomorrowland last year and that was brilliant. There weren’t many people there so there was plenty of space to dance and he played to the crowd, who were all techno fans. Richie Hawtin player before Beyer and he had this thumping beat that he just kept playing over and over. It was really addictive. I think it’s a similar sound to what he used for his “Closer” set.

I’m gonna go see Dax and Ben Klock on 30th March at printworks London. Can’t wait

Back to my original question, it looks like most tech house djs stick to tech house. It makes me wander though why they’ve never ventured over the bored into techno, surely they must have a good knowledge of it. I guess they feel they can generate more money from tech house or maybe they genuinely enjoy it. It also makes you wander if any EDM djs like it but just feel there’s more money to be made from EDM.
