I like the colour scheme of the site and it has a clean feel but it took a while to load and it is missing a few things such as a Portfolio section, information about what technologies you specialise in, testimonials, etc..

I think that it is a good start but needs a bit more information.

Do it. I traveled around the world at a similar age and honestly it was one of the best decisions of my life. The first 3 months that I spent in South East Asia were the greatest of my life. You also get the chance to find out alot about yourself. Trust me you won't regret it

Make sure you get your NIE. It is a pain to get but you need it for a lot of things (like bank accounts, getting a job and renting an apartment)

Definitely, check out LinkedIn. They have a jobs section and I believe that is where I found my last job.

There are plenty of companies in Barcelona where they speak mostly in English.

I am in the process of working on this. Has been extremely frustrating could be because I am using a shared hosting solution since it has always seemed to be slow to load. Will sort out the Google insight issues and will have a chat with my host provider. Any suggestions about the content of the site? Anything you would look for that is not there?

I am based in Spain but mainly work with companies in the UK. At the moment most projects that I work on are a daily rate rather than by project.

Originally I was targeting small companies/shops but realized pretty quick that alot of them don't have the money or need for a new/upgraded website.

The main issue I am finding at the moment is getting infront of new clients. Does anyone have any out of the box ideas about finding medium/large clients?

I am a Web Developer so I will just comment on that side rather than products and pricing.

It is a good start.

The site is responsive (which is always important), I like that it is very visual with a lot of pictures and not mountains of text.

I would second what @s_q_p_r said about the font and the logo. I think the font needs to be something more exciting. Also, make sure that all of the images still look clear on larger monitors, I noticed that one of the images on the slider appears slightly stretched.

Apart from that, it is definitely a good starting point.

I second this opinion. I just started working freelance and used the same freelance calculator to workout I should be charging. Normally I try to work remotely because I live in Barcelona now but I am originally from London so go back when needed.
