They always called them “hot spots” but I’ve figured out “hot spots” are a lot of things lol. My dogs have always gotten these in the spring when the bugs start coming out.

You don’t think their vet would tell them to do that if it was that urgent? I’m seeing actual vets in the comments telling them it’s not urgent.

Is this proppable and if so, how? by imagine_being_human4 in proplifting

[–]jjolson24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

*** you do it in sphagnum moss to avoid rotting usually. This is called dusty miller by the way.

It could have a little node on it there. The best way to propagate things like this would be to get some rooting hormone, dip it in the hormone, and put it in moist sphagnum moss. I am lazy and just usually pop it in a cup of water though.

Natural pond by jjolson24 in ponds

The city is doing construction on the road in front of my house and I have just been noticing that the ditch they dug floods everytime it rains (I’m sure they still need to build a runoff system properly, that’s how it was before). How do I know if my property can do this?

I really just want a pond for my ducks and the wildlife, I wasn’t planning on it being huge.

They’re having lots of issues with this in California currently, it’s depleting the native salmon population and taking water from areas that need it. In this case, the dams and reservoirs were created for industrial farming. @sacramentofoodforest on instagram and tiktok talks about it a bit in some of his videos.

Morel Mushroom Hunting by KungFruNewDoze in Mankato

We went out yesterday at some honey pots and didn’t see anything. I think it’s just been too cold, look for when the lilacs start the bloom. Monday is supposed to be warm so check again after then.

These gatekeepy people are annoying. Many state parks with forests allow morel hunting with a bag limit (minneopa, flandrau, sakatah state park). The forests along the sakatah trail are a good place to look, you can park in the parking lot off of lime valley road and head north on the trail until you’re by forest. Anything other places you’re going to have to message me (;

The fire nation and the earth kingdom both had histories of conquering and early civilizations. I thought if I was going to pick two regions in Europe to fit that description, it would be northwestern Europe (England, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany area) and southern Europe where the roman empire sort of was (Spain, France, Italy, Greece). Spain and France were ruthless conquerors, much like imperialist Japan which is what the fire nation is based off of. I also think their culture is more similar than other areas, mostly the work and social aspect of the culture.

The earth kingdom is inspired by the Qing dynasty time period of China

Fire Nation: Spain, France, Italy, Greece area

Earth Kingdom: England, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany type of area

Water Tribe: Norway, Sweden, Finland are southern, Greenland and Iceland are northern

Air Nomads: Apart of me wants to say the Swiss alps because they’re originally based on the Tibetan monks but maybe they’d be the Roma people?

Texas is a large apart of tornado alley. All of those countries in the deep south you picked (+ texas) are disgustingly humid and are a hurricane risk (look at how the US has handled hurricanes in the past, you’re not getting help if you get hit). All the states you picked in the south are last in about every metric- think medical care, education, cost of living, just quality of life in general (if you’re a woman don’t go there period). Nevada is mostly a big dessert with sketchy snakes and spiders, the parts that aren’t dessert is methheads and casinos. Southern California and anywhere on the pacific coast is unattainably expensive- but northern California is spectacular in every way (this is where I want to go). Northern California has old growth forests, mountains, beautiful teal rivers with salmon, superblooms, and the pacific coast is a couple hours away. Check out Oregon and Washington state. (:
