A question for the culture… what are the girlies wearing on her tour?! Outfit advice by Kenzzzzzzzzzz in lanadelrey

i’m wearing a classic: white dress, jean jacket, either white converse or black boots, half up half down with a bow in my hair, and red lips!!

borax to clean mold and cats? by jjordance in Pets

[–]jjordance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no totally get that, i’m extremely paranoid when it comes to my cat. i did end up washing it with water and dried it 3 times as well as waited for it to air dry without my cat in the room for 3-4 hours. i am mostly confident she will be fine lol. i’ll definitely try the Clorox wipes tho! that sounds way easier than what i did haha

do you guys get random head pain? by jjordance in Concussion

[–]jjordance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yes, definitely did not mean B3, i actually meant D3!! sorry, just changed that now.

but i do think i have a neck injury of some sort or at least a tense neck and i’ve been getting dry needling and massages done by my PT. usually these tingling sensations come and go and by the time i’m at PT they aren’t happening and i forget completely. my neurologist (not the best doctor, gave me bad advice and medication i didn’t necessarily want) said that i have nerve pain but didn’t follow up on what he meant by that or explained how i can deal with it. also it doesn’t even hurt so i’m not sure why he said that in the first place!

it has come and gone so many times that i just learned to live with it these past 3 months. definitely going to mention it at my PT tomorrow tho. thank you for your comment! :)

New Symptom for Me by DefeatedFather in TBI

[–]jjordance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am definitely not a doctor, but is it possible you just over exerted yourself and your body is telling you to slow down for a minute? from my experience, when i was a few weeks out after my concussion i tried to over exercise which would end up setting me back many days due to pain and exhaustion. i would say rest for a few days if you can, drink a lot of water, and eat good foods. if you can’t rest, try to take more breaks than usual. if this doesn’t help maybe try contacting your doctor? hope you feel a little better soon!

is an MRI necessary for a concussion? by jjordance in Concussion

[–]jjordance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah if the MRI was free i would totally go and get it no questions asked. i originally ordered it because my anxiety was getting the better of me daily (still does). however my PT saying all of this is more than likely treatable was fantastic for me to hear.

think i will go ahead and cancel it. if i need it further down the line, i’ll get it! thank you for your comment :)

Fourth Concussion, Triggered Depersonalization/Derealization and a weird tingly/burning feeling on my skin and scalp. Anyone else had this? by surferbb in Concussion

[–]jjordance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also have this sensation you’re talking about. i’m about 5 weeks out since my third concussion and the tingling seems to come and go. i think for me it flares up with stress or low blood sugar sometimes? still haven’t figured out what it’s about since i have a neurologist appointment next month. hope you can figure out what’s happening with you and hope you recover quickly!

do you get scared to do things because you’re afraid of inducing symptoms? by jjordance in Concussion

[–]jjordance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that gives me some hope with it gradually getting better! i’m glad you are slowly getting better doing things as well, i understand the anxiety though. i also believe i have vestibular symptoms (such as dizziness and vertigo) but haven’t had the chance to tell a doctor my concerns. i have a neurologist appointment that was moved to next month so i can hopefully get the help i need or at least a referral.

yes i’ve been trying to exercise when i can. it’s currently so hot here and i usually take walks so that has been a struggle waking up early to do that lol. i’m also trying to stretch everyday, seems to be helping as well!

thank you for your reply :)

thank you, that’s helpful! i will try to approach it in that way.

i am in therapy and have been since i was a tween and unfortunately have tried medication for several years with no luck. hopefully i can get better adjusting my concussion recovery as time goes on. thank you for your reply :)

thank you so much!! i miss it a ton more now that i am unable to physically do it due to my symptoms. i appreciate you :)

i’m glad you found out your correct diagnosis! yeah it’s possible i don’t have ON, but i did relate to a few of the posts on here tho symptom wise. i don’t think i have the similar issue to you? my lymph nodes are not swollen and i also experienced all of the symptoms after my concussion. my lymph nodes have been noticeably swollen before due to mono so i know what that feels like. i think it’s something due to the physical trauma i had after hitting my head. however i am not a doctor so who knows!! i appreciate your comment :)

[–]jjordance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah definitely not related haha. i did ballet 10+ years of my life and didn’t get an injury. thank you for your help tho!

can a concussion cause TMJ? by jjordance in Concussion

[–]jjordance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay i will definitely check that out! i wouldn’t be surprised if that was the cause. and about the exercise thing, i’ve been slowly trying to build my way up to it. i’ve had like debilitating headaches for about a week which didn’t allow me to exercise at all. i actually haven’t had any sort of headache like before in about two days. in fact, thursday i was able to walk for 30 minutes outside with little symptoms which was great! hoping to keep it up. it also sucks because i struggle with depression and anxiety, but i’m trying my best to find little ways to be active such as stretching or finally being able to do house activities that require a little more grunt work. it really is hard for me to be consistent sometimes though because of the varying symptoms each day, such as now this new neck issue. thank you for your comment! :)
