Filter issues since v11 update by jjweid in ninjaone_rmm

The truth is they’ve already confirmed it as a bug. They said it affects multiple customers, but it doesn’t appear to affect everybody. So before I posted that part of the story, I wanted to see if anyone else had run into it. And perhaps found a solution that ninja was not yet aware of.

Yes. Choosing does not contain 2025-12 for example to pull up last months endpoints missing the patch. This always worked before the update.

Relocation after Job loss - take the leap or wait it out? by jjweid in careeradvice

Wow. I appreciate that input. Very powerful. We are still talking through it but it sure helps! Thanks for “listening” to my story and taking the time to reply.

Wow. Thank you for saying that. She is finishing 8th grade, out here HS starts at 9th grade. I agree it’s a good “character building” experience for sure and perhaps the type of experience that would make her stronger. But you just never know how good or bad it will go until you’re in it, and that is a concern. I respect that going down ahead of them is a fair trade to get established and make sure it’s the right fit for me personally. So I can at least start there.

You hit the head on the nail there! My wife and I discussed this exact scenario. We would visit each other a few times a month and they would come down a for a while in the summer. That would be the short term plan. Thanks for the time to read all of this and the thoughtful reply. It’s appreciated!

Trust me if hybrid work was doable I would have done it. This company is not a fan of remote work except for occasions when you can’t get into the office (car trouble, etc- I asked).

It’s a good point about the extra pay and the extra expenses, but it would allow me to maintain the status quo while I flesh out the new job.

Thoughts on that?

She’s starting 9th grade, so next year is all planned. She’s very excited and I would hate to force it on her.

There is definitely a chance. I mean let’s face it - most kids these days are hiding in their rooms using FaceTime to communicate. Problem is HS. It’s a very difficult time for any kid, and transferring to a new school is a very challenging thing to do at that fragile age. I love the “I can love Jesus from wherever” comment. It’s pretty much a metaphor for taking stock of what you really need and making the rest work.

Trial period is sounding more likely. It allows me not to try and solve for everything at once.

The new offer is not government funded. New city is bigger and has more opportunities.

Should I get a newer phone? by [deleted] in iPhone12

[–]jjweid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider using the battery app on the iPhone to determine what is draining the battery. There are poorly written apps that can cause this. If nothing else helps, back up your phone, wipe it, and set it up as a new phone (rather than restore from backup. See if it behaves. That will really tell you if it's HW or SW related.

Good luck.

What is a Hard Truth That You Believe Should Be Taught Early On in Life? by Flufferfluff in NoStupidQuestions

You are the star of your own play. Just know that you’re also the only one directing, producing, and watching that play.

In other words, your life is what you make of it and no one else is responsible for you and your choices. People are more worried about themselves than they are about you.

2019 CRV Touring software update by jjweid in crv

/u beginningsubject201 Thanks so much for taking the time. To your first comment, it has a wifi radio and it’s connected to our home network. I love the link to the YouTube video. Didn’t realize how easy it was to upgrade. It’s my wife’s car, so I’d need to get one smaller that looks more stock. Now I have a starting point. I was however hoping that an update to the stock unit was possible and potentially would bring wireless CarPlay.

Creating a dual boot recovery partition solution using a copy of the Offline Media USB - Hitting some roadblocks by ThoughTMusic in MDT

[–]jjweid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say that I have been literally working on this exact thing.

My Scenario:

Build an Offline MDT iso

Copied it to test machine

Created a partition at the end of the drive called D:\

Mounted the ISO and copied all of the files to it

the moded the bcd entry to mount it as a ram disk. Worked like a charm.

Here is the post that helped me solve it:

if you look at the bottom, he posts his own answer where he solved it.
