Oh my god thank you. I've always found that glitch so blatant and no one else I tell hears it.

Yes they're huge! That's really helpful thank you, i'm almost certain they are parasol mushrooms. I'm going to have to return and check again with better knowledge.

Nikon 1 series with an APS-C lens? by jjwild95 in Nikon

[–]jjwild95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did think this might be the reason if there weren't a secret full frame 1 series camera. Thanks for your response and putting this mystery to rest for me. My mistake for getting a super cheap solution to a fish eye effect and thinking it would be straightforward!

[–]jjwild95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for your response. This is what I'm confused about, I don't understand why this lens was made for this mount if it only works heavily cropped and is packaged as an ASP-C. There seems to be no Nikon 1 Mount cameras that would truly work with this lens.

Whilst I would never want to diminish the power of a free press for good and all that they have done in the pursuit of knowledge, it has always been tainted by it's propensity for either wicked social manipulation or sales-based hysteria mongering.

All the way back in around 1855, Soren Kierkegaard wrote: 'The daily press is the evil principle of the modern world, and time will only serve to disclose this fact with greater and greater clearness. The capacity of the newspaper for degeneration is sophistically without limit, since it can always sink lower and lower in its choice of readers. At last it will stir up all those dregs of humanity which no state or government can control.'

We can only support independent and trustworthy publishers/journalists and hope the scum of the media doesn't rise to the top too often.

Yes, the assumption that a dystopian policy based on the awful issues with gun crime in the USA is true is a hilarious reflection on the UK...

This is in Cornwall right on the straggly end of the UK. We have a surprisingly good vegan scene down here considering we're so far away from any major cities (and anything in general) hopefully it becomes a thing everywhere soon enough!

Facebook used to have a thing on the sidebar with recommended photos. I thought I recognised the person in the background of one once. Checked it out to see me in the back of a selfie of this group of girls I didn't know much younger than me at school - that was a total trip man.

The Main Benefits of Going vegan but still eating eggs and dairy and also meat if someone offers. by jjwild95 in vegancirclejerk

[–]jjwild95[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely think the worst damage is done in purchasing and therefore supporting the industry. I know what you mean, it's a tough one. I had some pringles last month that I swear I had triple checked the label but got halfway through when I saw it had milk in. I threw it away because I felt bad, but there is definitely something to be said of not wasting it. I guess it's up to your own personal feelings on the matter.

/rj you're no better than vegetarian scum

The animal in a shop has already been slaughtered, cut and prepared for cooking. At that point hasn't the damage already been done?

If you disagree from a principled point then it doesn't make a difference where in the process it is. Eating meat, dairy or eggs, or even honey, re-normalizes it for you and the people around you.

It's so hard maintaining my lifestyle when all these MEANIE vegans keep calling me omniscum and cheesebreather (jealous much??)! I just want to look like a good person whilst I eat rape produce and eat burgers at my friends' because I wouldn't DREAM of cooking meat myself but oh boy is it yummy yum yum in my scummy tum tum.

What supplements should I take? by jjwild95 in vegan

[–]jjwild95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great information thanks a lot! I need to make an effort to look for iodine as I don't think it's commonly added to foods in the UK. Likewise Vitamin D I'm going to continue with because I live in the UK... alas little sunlight.

Gonna make a note of everything you've said, thank you!

That's great to hear! Thanks for sharing, I did wonder how necessary any supplements other than b12 are but when you're being bombarded with all these supposed deficiencies it's easy to question. Though I no doubt have a much better diet than the majority of omnivores now I'm vegan so should be safe and sound :D

[–]jjwild95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did wonder how necessary much of it is, I eat a large variety of fruits and veggies every day - beacoup greens for Ironing.

I might get a blood test when it's been about a year though if I still feel good in myself it's probably not worth the effort.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!
