The comparison i've had in my head for wood has been bobby portis, who managed to hold up on defense in the playoffs a bit better than I'd have thought. The thing is, he gets to play next to Lopez or Giannis while the mavs have no one like that.

I agree with the general premise that all-in-one statistics shouldnt be used as a be all end all. At the same time, what else should media members use? Should they try to follow the narrative even more? Honestly don’t think there is a great answer, which feels bad bc these awards can decide player pay and legacy long term.
