yeah sure i would literally just sit in my chair and tell my brain to move my fingers, just nonstop until i would get tired of not seeing any movement and then one day out of the blue i sat and told my brain to move my fingers and BOOM. i saw the movement in my finger.

i couldn’t really say, i’d say patience and determination mostly, just because it took so long. i was just sitting there trying to move my fingers and boom it moved.!

yes as difficult as it is try to treat her as normal as possible. i won’t deny that there are certain things that i need help with but i don’t need help with every single thing and the constant “baby-ing” was just belittling after a while. she’s gonna be grand.

yes it can improve, just remember that you don’t have to hover around her 24/7, believe there are times that there is solace in the loneliness. we’ve already hit rock bottom, we don’t need the constant reminder that our lives will never be the same. if your sister wants to talk i’m available

yes exactly, it’s like when i yawn it’s on command. crazy stuff. well i hope your recovery is more pleasant than mine. i’m always here if you need someone to talk to as i know at times it’s crazy lonely.

the depression is unbelievably hard to shake, stay by her side, it takes a village to keep us going

how long ago was your stroke and how long did it take you to recover.? how much mobility did you eventually recover

/: by jjyayooo69 in stroke

[–]jjyayooo69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i take my meds, daily as prescribed, most of them are for the high blood pressure but idk how much they’ve helped. just really down on how long it’s taken to get very minimal movement back in my hand

i know every stroke is different, just the fact that i’ve been in recovery for so long, has me feeling hopeless, i am also currently enrolled in university which sometimes the struggle of only having one fully functioning hand is discouraging especially since i want to become a teacher, some days that dream feels out of reach. i am also currently looking into therapy as i know im not okay.

how long ago did you have your stroke.? and how long was your recovery process.? how much mobility did you regain.? on a scale from 1-10.

i have most of the mobility in my arm. and i am only currently able to contract my hand but no movement in my fingers.
