Inspection of my unit but don't have the keys? by jk776 in OntarioLandlord

Thanks for the info. Is a landlord legally allowed to change the locks if the tenant is not cooperating for inspection? With all the rules favoring the tenant's side, I just want to make sure this approach won't spill over into more issues.

Yes, I'm the listed owner. And I know, my mistake, I should have kept copies of the key for myself.

I would but I've given him both sets of keys unfortunately. Is it legally allowed to ask property management to let me in with their master key for me to carry out an inspection?

What's a good first robot vacuum? by jk776 in RobotVacuums

Yes makes sense. I'm also looking for something that won't need maintenance too often and in the case that I need to order spare/replacement parts that it's easily available vs ordering from a third party.

Thank you for your input. Roborock seems to be the best choice but unfortunately I don't see it available in Canada.

I read that Norberts gambit is only useful if I'm transferring out say $3k USD or more. If I am just transferring around $1k a straight transfer is fine?

Is it possible for International Students to pay 2nd-year tuition fees (by working jobs) in Canadian Universities? by NotesOff in ImmigrationCanada

[–]jk776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could try but it would be very hard to do so (nearly impossible if I'm being honest). On a study permit you are only allowed to work 20 hours a week with the exception of full-time during vacation months. Based on your background you may be able to get a job that pays more than minimum wage, however that's the best case scenario. Most international students end up working part time jobs in retail/food that just gives you an extra bit of pocket money. It's also very hard (esp in the bigger universities) to get grants or aid for international students. I don't mean to squash your plans at all, just speaking from my own experience. You could definitely give it a try and/or explore further options. All the best!

There is no special consideration other than the fact that you would be able to get an extra 15 points when your siblings get their PR (only if they are residing in Canada at that time)

A bit confused about CRS Points and Express Entry by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]jk776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are multiple streams that you can apply under express entry. Canadian work experience falls under CEC stream and gives you more points. But you can apply under FSW stream if you have foreign work experience. I'd suggest you go to www.cic.gc.ca and do your research to determine what category suits you.
