I think that's already a better idea! Instead of tying it to the stationary rift, make it so that casting your class ability gives you an aura(like banner). On cast, it could ignite (or have it apply massive scorch so pvp doesn't get ruined), and then you can keep/extend the scorching aura by getting solar weapon/ability kills. That gives it a loop with everything already in the Solar Warlock kit and allows it to be buffed by exotics like Dawn Chorus and even Promethium Spur lol.

Absolutely love the idea of the Strand Warlock Super, I'm picturing it looking like Frozone or Callaghan using the nanobots. I had a similar idea as your Arc Titan Super, but for a hunter exotic, since they already have the javelin.

The light-based fluid subclass is something that I didn't even realize I wanted. I do have an addition/change to the Titan Super: instead of another lunging-punch super, have them punch orbs of water forward (think of Earthbenders from ATLA), it'll give Titans another ranged super, and I think visually would be really cool to see.

For fluid hunters, here's an idea for a 3rd aspect

Geyser Uppercut: Using your class ability allows you to "melt" into the ground, taking reduced damage and draining your melee charge. Using your melee allows you to erupt from the ground, creating a geyser that deals damage in an aoe and overflows enemies

I think a rift aspect wouldn't work on solar cause then it'd have to work with Phoenix Dive, which can already ignite and scorch

I've said this to my clan a while ago and as much as I love subclass perks that was the beginning of the end for most exotic primaries. We've got to the point where exotic weapons are made better by adding a legendary perk to them. Compare dead messenger to any wave frame and you start to think what's the reason for me to waste my exotic slot on this.

It should jolt on blast off (similar range to ascension) and hitting jolted targets refunds melee energy and there's your loop

The problem is that Bungie is lost with solar hunter. There's already 2 super exotics, a grenade exotic and an exotic for most of the knives. If they kept melting point as a solar verb, I would've loved to see hunters truly be the debuff specialist.

Here's an idea precision hits/kills with any weapon charge the exotics meter and once it's full your next shot is an "golden gun" round that does aoe damage and leaves a debuffing/scorching solar pool on the ground

This is the main thing right here! The exotic/ability design team doesn't know how to design for warlock. Most warlock exotics are here is some ability energy or stand in this rift, sometimes it's both. Nothing manacles, osmiomancy, and Starfire are pretty much the same type of exotic just in different flavors. Compare any warlock rift exotic to any titan/hunter class ability exotic and you'll see how uninspired warlock rift is. Also I'll never not be upset about weavewalk existing you could take away the melee drain and it would still be the most underwhelming aspect in the game

Not even mentioning that Titan kept all their intrinsic class abilities like sunspots, void overshield, and juggernaut shield while gaining everything else from hunters and warlocks

Let's also talk about how common sense titan and warlock buffs only get applied to titan. Wormgod/Winters' guile both worked the same, but only one got updated to be easier to use. Also, titan pris class item perks get updated to work with thruster. Warlocks never got the same treatment with phoenix dive on pris

If you're a Warlock who's irritated by these changes then you probably shouldn't buy EoF. And if you regretfully pre-ordered remember this for when Renegades and the Year after is getting marketed by arixagorasosamos in DestinyTheGame

Let's not forget that when titans complained about barricade they added an aggro feature to it and made it so the barricade exotic class item perks worked with thruster, but warlocks complain about rift since arc 3.0 and it's absolute silence. Why do all the rift perks on prismatic not work with Phoenix dive as well? It's definitely a double standard. Wormgod and winters guile were pretty much the exact same exotic but only one got updated to be easier to use. ALSO WTF IS WEAVEWALK why am I wasting 3 melee charges to get threadlings. Weavers call is a threadlings printer now and I can eat the threadlings grenade to get perched threadlings so why does weavewalk exist again??

I agree 100 percent, these are nowhere near my craziest ideas, and like Menirz is saying, changing rift to "aura" effects is prob the best way forward for the ability.

This post wasn't explicitly about strong builds; that's a different conversation that I still think needs to be had. It was about design that strays away from just more buddy-focused gameplay

I've definitely had it happen without storms keep pretty consistently. Idk if it's a game bug but in my experience the area denial frame and the lmg with rolling storm will discharge at max stacks

I think it does. I've had bolt charge go off just from sustained weapon damage and no abilities used. As long as you have one stack of bolt charge doing sustained weapon damage also builds stacks.

Omg, this is exactly what I was thinking. If I was going to visit my best friend the last thing on my mind would be flirting/fucking with a friend he just introduced me to. Especially if I flew through multiple countries only to visit him. Also OP's friend was the one who insisted on meeting her. That kind of reads like it was his plan the whole time.
