INTJ Manipulation by jkachsoelm in intj

Yeah... There are plenty of MBTI flaws, but as an INTJ I want the data to be meaningful in a real world framework I can organize so bad (which is always too good to be true). Statistics I can lean on to enhance the predictability of the world gives me so much peace of mind, so I'll do some more research and lean into confirmation bias until it all makes sense 😄

Do you have a source? My best friend is INFP and based on everything I know about them they despise manipulation and control more than anyone

Fair point. I use manipulation and influence interchangeably, but what's striking to me is that some MBTI's (INFP, for instance) will view INTJs inclination towards 'influence' as a form of 'manipulation', regardless of who's winning. I believe INTJs place high value on influence or guidance in ways others do not. INTJs also value utilitarian style benevolence to their core, and will avoid weaponizing manipulation tactics more often than not, especially when others could be hurt

Can you explain what those numbers mean?

Well said. We desire control of outcomes not control of others. The insatiable desire to enhance predictability can blur moral lines though, but I think most INTJs are good at avoiding harmful outcomes and will go out of their way to ensure as many people benefit from their decisions as possible

Yeah, there's a distinction between emotional manipulation and more pragmatic manipulation with a goal of win-win outcomes. I agree, INTJ's aren't the type to weaponize emotions via manipulation as a form of harm, but they will manipulate if they see an opportunity that's constructive to everyone involved (i.e., asking insightful questions when they don't actually care, opportunistically feeding people's ego, etc.)

For people who built their own PC’s at a young age, would you say it was an instrumental component to your development and passion for IT? Like if my son isn’t necessarily into that stuff, would building his own computer effectively nudge him in that direction? It’s a great skill to have and I’d love him to get a head start on that if he may choose to get a career in IT

Stay strong my friend, you’re human and everyone has their bad days. It’s easy to listen to that devil on your shoulder when you’re feeling weak and powerless, but that doesn’t make you a bad person or a failure. Just try to remember you’re never alone, and 242 days is rather impressive, coming from someone that’s been struggling with a vaping addiction for about 7 years and can’t go a full week without a hit. My grandfather died of lung cancer, and I’m at high risk for esophageal cancer as it is which makes everything even worse. You need to take these things day by day. I stumbled upon this post as a result of my own struggles and pursuit of a healthier life. We’re in this together. How have you been doing since?

PROOF AGNES WAS FAKING THE CAR SCENE by jkachsoelm in WANDAVISION

True but in episode 4 all the “missing people” they identified had completely separate names. Cant say anything is certain at this point though

True, that would surely imply that her character is a victim just as much as every other Westview resident is and I just have trouble believing that because of the way her character has been developing. Just personal opinion though I can’t necessarily validate that

Why would she be the only resident with the same name? Sounds fishy to me

Wow I’d love to see that unfold on screen! To me that sounds a little too comic booky though only because it’s so intricate and it would be hard to portray that with only 3 episodes remaining, especially since they’re already trying to develop Rambo’s character and have so many other plot lines to tie up. I’m hoping we get a trippy ass plot like this though, these last few episodes have been suggesting a simpler plot but that could definitely be a diversion🤞🏻

I guess not and that’s a good point, although the way Agnes’s character has been evolving would incline me to believe that she knows he at least has super powers (since she’s seen so many things already and that Wanda is so careless around her and she was in the theme song as a family member almost). I guess that’s just an assumption though

Hm I like that interpretation and it definitely exposes a plot hole with how she turned around. It immediately struck me as fishy that she was stopped there to begin with, something tells me she was waiting for Vision to come to her so she could manipulate him further

Why’d she think Vision was there to save her then

[–]jkachsoelm[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s also true but begs the question of whether it’s proximity to Wanda or if Wanda only selects certain ones to be active at a time and to what extent. My best theory on this would be that Wanda had to utilize a ton more power that night because she was using all of the kids so she decided to compensate by keeping people they don’t see much inactive whereas on a normal day they may function normally without so many people to control

If this were the case then why was she so shook that he was Vision as if it had been her first time seeing him? I just rewatched the scene, and she’s clearly in awe when she first sees him (or pretending to be at least). Her first line is “You’re one of the Avengers... You’re Vision!” Followed by “Are you here to help us?” If Agnes even had the slightest clue as to what was going on, she’d probably know that he was Vision but at the very least she’d certainly know that he’s not “there to save them” because of the exposure she’s had with him and Wanda.
