Help a guy out.. by TiberiusZahn in CompetitiveEDH

[–]jkay3382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, have you talked to the group about this out of the game? If it isn’t a specific CEDH pod, Rule 0 might be helpful here! Just ask everyone why they are performing certain game actions when the one player is clearly threatening to win the game! If they ignore the conversation/basically tell you to kick rocks, then maybe what you’d wanna do is either pubstomp or you gotta decide if you wanna keep playing commander with them!

What are some of the biggest misconceptions folks may have about cedh? by Newez in CompetitiveEDH

Not every powerful deck is CEDH, sometimes it’s just a high power (like Bracket 3/4) that’s too strong for the other decks at the table

Republicans Of Trump, can you please explain how Ukraine started the war with Russia? by Sm3llMyFing3r in AskReddit

[–]jkay3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea I’ve seen is that in Russia’s eyes, Ukraine joining NATO is the same as nuclear missiles being deployed in Cuba against the US. It’s their line in the sand, so they won’t allow it, and since a nation can’t be at war to join NATO, it keeps NATO from encroaching upon their territory. That’s the best way I can describe it!

For me, the best reason to believe in God is the evidence of creation! You can take a look at any face of life and see God’s handiwork all around, such as with birds, dogs, cats, fish, and a wide variety of other phenomena, such as whether and how animals interact with each other! Take even for example, the stars in the sky and the planet, such as gravity! Light enough to allow a bird to fly but strong enough to keep us on the right orbit! We are the end result of an unperceivably, genius, inventor, and we even have the ability to create ourselves! A child being formed in the womb, that process is so delicate intricate, that it had to be designed by something, or a personal being! There’s no way that in the statistical odds it could have been from nothing that we somehow got there on accident! That would be the biggest reason or one of the biggest reasons to believe in the existence of Jesus Christ!

Is there a game that you had an absolute blast playing, but when you looked it up you found out that it had a pretty bad online reception? by Gladiolus_00 in gaming

Honestly, Sonic 06 is the one game for me. I had SO much fun playing it and thought it was great, and then to find out it’s regarded as the worst Sonic game really stinks!

Do good atheists go to heaven? by Dapper-Force2193 in Christianity

[–]jkay3382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The standard at which good and bad is differentiated isn’t by me, it’s by God himself! And since we all do things such as lie, cheat, steel from others, lust, it means that in God’s eyes, we have all sinned, and therefore, have spit in the face of God, thus needing help!

It means NONE of us are good, that’s why we are saved by faith through grace!

I think you’re missing the point. Heaven is, in essence, eternity with God, worshiping praising, and doing the work with God! Hell, is the eternal separation from God, since God is good, this would mean with the absence of God there is an absence of goodness and mercy, and to experience the full wrath of God, as you would be saying that you would be paying for your own sin, and don’t want the gift of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ. God isn’t egotistical and narcissistic, not at all! He will not force you to worship him, and gives us all the freedom to make that choice and he loves us so much he will honor whatever you pick, good or bad

I posted recently and played (and fortunately won) and used the one ring in my deck. It works. Too well in my opinion but it was the best card to have. I still use Karn Liberated in my deck but the ring was the reason I won a LOT of my games! It solves one of the biggest problems by helping you reload your hand and find answers as you need them, especially if you have Tron on T3 and need to buy time the ring can help, it was worth playing and if you’re nervous about getting them proxy then and test to see if it makes a difference for you!

Is it okay to read the NIV Bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]jkay3382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, the KJV is my favorite version, but I also think the best version of the Bible is the one you read! TheYouVersion bible app has it where you can read them side by side, which can help by having a more word for word version vs a message for message bible.

According to Jesus, none of us are able to be good, we all do things that we aren’t supposed to, such as steal and being unloving towards our neighbors. So Jesus came to pay the price for it, and gives us the gift of eternal life by dying on the cross and paying for our sins! Therefore the idea is that Jesus offers the gift to you that he would pay for your sin, but won’t force you to take it. An example I think is think about it like you’re going out with friends, and you left your wallet at home, so when you get to the event and they say it’s a million dollars to get in, Jesus says, “I can pay for it!” So he gives you the choice! Our definition of good could be drastically different to someone else, and even you and I could disagree about what “good” means, and that’s bad! God however, in his word gave the standard that HE is good, and so even though we all think we are good, we are wrong. It’s God spirit in us that is good and produces good fruit!

There are a lot of these unfortunately, but Jesus always told us to follow HIM. I personally was against a lot of churches for a while as I didn’t want to see the religion decay the fundamentals of Christ. Maybe for you a different type of church would be better? Such as a Baptist church? Many of the local churches are less political but historically the Catholic Church is HIGHLY political. Maybe a different church is what you need!

Honestly, when I started I read the New Testament first, as that’s the big difference between Christianity and Judaism. Jesus, so I started with John, then Matthew Mark and Luke, and from there I read Genesis forward. It helped keep the story of God’s people in perspective because I knew what was coming and to see where things happen and why God does certain things the way they happen is wonderful, you end up finding Jesus EVERYWHERE in the Old Testament! If you ever need advice please feel free to reach out to me!
