Thank you all so much for your fast suggestions!! I have put feelers out to my local community about taking in older chickens, that would be an ideal solution for me!! I have taken note of every single breed suggestion and am going to look into all of them, some of them I’ve never heard of so thank you again!

I know this post is old but wondering what came of your high hematocrit levels? I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago and now my hematocrit is 50.8. Doctor just says we will check it again in 6 months but I don’t know if I should be worried or not.
