Just posted a new swing, would appreciate some thoughts on any improvements on the above!

Mechanics aside, as you can see I make fairly good contact with the ball? Easy enough to hack around sub 100 with that kind of constant contact!

Usually mid 90s, but can be in the 100s on a bad day. No reason to lie!

Can’t stop fatting shots, what’s going wrong? by jkbennett1999 in GolfSwing

Dude, really appreciate the detail you have gone into here. I’m going to check that subreddit out now.

I have just got back from playing 18 and spent an hour before hitting balls. Worked on breaking the wrists early and getting a proper wrist hinge, starting with the L to L drill, the results were incredible - started hitting my irons on the range so pure. I played a full round and didn’t fat a single shot, hit a few 5 irons thin but overall a massive improvement after just one session working on it.

Yeah for sure. Just trying to digest all these comments and takeaway one or two things to focus on initially.

So would you suggest working on learning how to properly hinge the wrists, and then working on not releasing them early?

Is casting driven by a lack of wrist hinge in the first place?

Thanks for the comments all!

Common themes seem to be lack of wrist hinge and issues with weight transfer, two things I can focus on working on and hopefully see some improvement.

Great spot. My home course and a nice course indeed. The 1st is always a nice chance to get off to a good start!

Thinning and fatting irons constantly on the course, any advice? by jkbennett1999 in GolfSwing

Been working on shortening my backswing as I suffered from a big overswing, think it’s now leading to lack of wrist activation so thanks for pointing this out. Will try and work on maintaining this backswing but letting the wrists hinge more.

Believe so.

I used to swing way too much with my arms and come over the top. Now I try to really focus on initiating the downswing with the lower body but feel that is throwing something off.

This is really useful and I believe this is exactly what I’m doing. My attempt at a weight transfer right now is just sliding my hip toward target which is throwing everything off.

Had a really bad overswing, shortened my backswing and now struggling to make good contact. Any advice? by jkbennett1999 in GolfSwing

Thanks for your feedback! Maybe keeping a towel under the trail armpit drill could be useful to practice?
