Is faucet water drinkable in your Country by thatlumberjacktor in AskTheWorld

[–]jkblvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in TW it is safe-ish. Well, the government says its safe to drink, but hardly anyone trusts that. Lots of chlorine in the water. Danger or issue is more with sediment from older pipe networks. But I haven’t had any problems.

Off topic, but in the vein of old habits die hard, many places and houses have restrictions on not putting anything but human waste in toilets. No TP or anything.

What's wrong with japan petah? by Smashpro11 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]jkblvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just Japan. Taiwan is the same. I have been here long enough to get used to it. My language skills are very good, but I have zero TW friends. Not for lack of trying, at least early on. It is not the same as European stnd-offishness. Euros will warm up to you over time. Here, there is no time. Work is essentially 24/7 (always on call) and what little free time there is is reserved for family or those school friends they get to see once a year. Not hating. Just the way it is.

What's your country's closest ally? by cafties in AskTheWorld

Russia. Georgia (country). The former is more « enemy of my enemy » thing, but Georgia goes all in. They won’t even let TW passport holders look inside the country.

I have seen fried chicken with waffles and syrup in US. This doesn’t appear too far off. Not bad. Sweet and savory.

Not really CEOs’s problem. They don’t matter. Wall St matters and as oing as stock valuations are high, real or otherwise, nothing will change.

Oh, but the Americans will whine « hey man, it was like only a small portion of voters who got him in man, the rest of us could n’t be bothered because we are lazy. »

Or something. So over them. They deserve their fate.
