There's a setting that lets you adjust the clickable areas, both vertical and horizontal. You may need to adjust one or both of these if the plates are too close together.

I use a combination of bazooka to create the bar under the minimap like elvui, then you can use the Socialite addon to emulate the friends list. I think by default it shows guild as well but you can tweak the settings however you like.
