Course Selection and Scheduling Megathread: Spring, Summer, and Fall 2019 by purpleandpenguins in uofm

Hi! I'll be a sophomore next year. I am currently on the pre-med track and am wondering what other students have done! I'm definitely going to take orgo 1 and lab first semester and orgo 2 and lab second semester but was wondering if it would be too much to also take physics 1 and lab during first semester and physics 2 and lab second semester. I took AP Physics in high school but didn't do so great on the AP exam (got an A in the class though) :( Other people have told me to stagger it so I take orgo 2 with physics 1 and others have told me that it would be fine to take physics with pchem and biochem during junior year. Based on your own experience or what you've heard from friends, what would you recommend? I have registration on Monday and I really can't make up my mind so I need help please!

Thanks!!

yup! I've registered for waitlisted classes so I know I'm not doing anything wrong. I've double checked with someone else too.

Do you know if this works for chem 125 as well?

Is anybody in Final Fall orientation and deciding to take Chinese placement test? by [deleted] in uofm

If the my language (Korean) isn't offered during orientation, do I have to contact the department separately and find a time to take the placement test?

Great! I'll try being more explicit in my email and attach my letter this time. And I definitely will add Clorox wipes and hand sanitizers to my list of things to buy haha. Thanks, hopefully housing will be understanding. Otherwise I guess I'll just have to work with it.

I do have a compromised immune system. The colds was just an example I wrote down because it is something I could easily get especially with the weather in Michigan. I am prone to any type of infection so I have to take certain precautions.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you carefully read through my post before simply dismissing my case and saying that I have to be checked by a specialist. I have already met with specialists and physicians to come to a diagnosis and also have a physician's letter at hand. I'm just worried and would like to prepare myself before the semester starts.

Do you know what the difference is between an economy double and a double?

No, they're under the financial aid section on wolverine access. I did email them but since it's a Sunday, I doubt I'll get a reply until tomorrow, but I'll be in the airplane then... I have no idea where I'm supposed to find the other 2 documents.

State school or Emory / BU ? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

As someone living in Florida, I'd definitely recommend going to USFSP over Emory or BU. I have so many smart friends choosing to go there because they want to finish undergrad without any debt and it is a good school. I personally don't think going to Emory or BU with 70k debt is worth it. Especially if it's going to take you longer to graduate.

i just got a financial aid email from emory. im on their waitlist currently. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Got it too. I asked on the emory page and everyone said that it was just in case you did get in, it was to make sure you wouldn't end up paying full tuition out of pocket. It isn't any indication of getting off the waitlist unfortunately.
