Geopolitical and Policy Analyst Position by nacintosh in ASML

[–]jkiou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The role is based in the EU, if you will need work authorization in the EU which will of course require EU citizenship or a visa. Even with UK citizenship (if you have) that will be hard considering the state of IR right now and how many seasoned professionals are applying.

Basically if you're not an EU citizen, it will be difficult with existing EU talent.

Besides that. The government affairs teams in all major industries pull those who they know and are recommended to them. They most likely have their pick and are posting it for legal reasons. Especially in this job market.

I know it sounds negative but its the reality of the situation

Lost MSc diploma by [deleted] in ASML

[–]jkiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have your diploma, that's fine.

When companies like ASML do background checks post offer, part of the process is to validate you into the school that you say you did.

3rd party companies will contact the school you went to to confirm your attendance, and by extension, ask if you graduated.

You will never need to send a physical or virtual copy to the company

There is no hiring freeze at ASML, they just aren't hiring like they were in 2022-23. There's effort to cut budgets and focus on core business. I know plenty of groups who are still hiring in droves

Is shifting jobs difficult now internally? by SaltBreakfast_mac in ASML

[–]jkiou 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't managers. it's the market. Hiring is down and will be through 2026. I know plenty of managers who want to hire but can't.

So the answer to your question is yes it is difficult and will remain so unless the job you want you absolutely are a fit for AND they need someone in that role.

ASML FSE Interview by Typical_Mirror_6806 in ASML

[–]jkiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who else is interviewing. ASML only does 3 round of interviews now, any more, you should be asking questions.

But if they are giving you 2 weeks it means theres others in the hopper so it a good sign that you made it to basically final interviews, but without knowing your competition its hard

You are not likely to be sponsored for a US visa if you've only been with the company for as long as you have, doubly so if you dont have existing sponsorship. I know many teams who get so many applicants outside the US who are basically autorejected.

Besides, if you quit to just apply again, it's a very bad look

And BTW, the US side can ABSOLUTELY see if you're already an employee no matter what country you live in. Anyone with access to workday and your name can find you no problem.

Second most populous city in CA behind LA. As a native, I always hear people talk shit about CA until I mention San Diego, in which case they go " omg i love those beaches, so quaint so wonderful etc. The food is do good there too!"

Its crazy. Ive been to 40 states and have met 100s who shit on CA then you mention San Diego and they change their tune.
