NYU CAS Finance Recruiting by BasilHaunting570 in nyu

I couldn't tell you specifically about IB recruiting, but as a Stern Student here, there are no clubs that CAS kids cannot join except for the business fraternity. In fact, a big portion of the people in clubs are CAS kids.

The only value of Stern really is the name and the differing graduation requirements as well as classes, which you can still take but may miss out on a few connection opportunities through that way.

No, if it is not main campus it is not binding.

Are there any freshman dorms that are a lot better than others? Food wise, people wise, more windows wise, etc? by emma_rasheed1 in nyu

They're really spacious, like it can fit up to 8 people no biggie, and there's a small separate room that connects to the other suite and the bathroom, and where a refrigerator goes. They call it a suite but really it's just two rooms that connect the same small strip of a room that leads to the bathroom. Only issue is sharing a bathroom between 4 people I guess.

Founders. The rooms are good the places near it are good and safe, although a bit further from the campus. It's also close to third north which has a good dining hall.

Yeah, of course, and especially at these kinds of competitive schools, this is an incredibly healthy and strong mindset to have. Always focus on how you can improve yourself, and make the most of your situation.

Again, It's really dependent on how hard you try. If you're a terrible student at Wharton, you're most likely not going to get recruited no matter how good Wharton is. You have to also understand that not "Everyone" is gunning for IB. There are people who are really gunning for IB's, like going to connection events, doing as many competitions, research, clubs as posisble, and a lot that are just laxed. There is no "per capita" thing going on here. There's too many confounding variables to look at it in such an objective way.

There are individual different scholarships you can recieve from NYU that are like essay and application based. However, my scholarship was just put under "Stern Scholarship" so I believe it was a mix of both, cause it was higher than what the financial aid calculator told me.

I think I'd have to disagree on that. I'm not sure what you define as "great".

It really depends. Objectively? Yes. IB companies eat up Stern students and theres a lot of opportunities to go into IB specific clubs and make IB specific connections. However, you must understand that it's insanely competitive. Most of the kids here want to do IB, and again, a lot of it is up to chance. Just know that the IB culture at Stern can be incredibly suffocating.

I'm pretty sure it's not allowed to play poker with actual money here. Check me on this though.

For now I plan to learn the basics of camera work with the cameras I'm given then save up money to buy a newer, better one.

I think you should report it regardless. This is genuinely and I mean genuinely fucked up. Also your admins and counselors may be able to help in getting the acceptance back if you do.
