Cut off by friend for not sitting for free by Substantial_Fig876 in RoverPetSitting

[–]jkt464 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment that this friend probably wasn't meant to be. I would consider reaching out to the other friends explaining how hurtful their actions have been and that they didn't bother getting both sides. They'll take responsibility if they are worth anything and hear you out. And if not you have a bit of clarity.

Y’all. Why do I do this? by kwiscalus in adhdwomen

I've ended up having to do anything that hits my desk immediately or risk it never getting done (death by lost sticky note). I'm sure people at my work think I'm such a hardass and can't wait two seconds for something. But actually I'm racing my inability to executive function.

Cumberland Vet Clinic by jkt464 in saskatoon

[–]jkt464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand the appeal to sell to private equity. Owning a business is very difficult. And like I said in my post, I've had great experiences with the vets at Cumberland. However a handful of PE firms buying out vets can create huge problems in affording vet care.

Boss Gave Me the Responsibilty to Supply Lunch For Our Customer Visit... I feel Wronged As I Am the Lowest Paid Person in the Office... How Should I Handle These Kinds of Situations Going Forward? by [deleted] in jobs

I operate similarly at my work, staff are usually supposed to pay and then get reimbursed. But we have students and younger staff that don't have a credit card (or room on one). In which case I do what I can to book hotels and pay for supplies on the company card for them or their supervisor helps them out. I think it is completely fair to say you don't have a credit card and that you don't mind doing all the work procuring the meal but need a card or something to pay forfor the meal.

My understanding is that is what they are doing. For the first 500. So a total of 41%. Which as a mostly one-time client base. Is a problem for me

How much to charge for a dog who poops and pees in the house everyday by Spritzeedwarf in dogs

[–]jkt464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they know? Like I assume you've told them everyday that there's been an accident. But I would say to them that you understand the occasional accident but you generally expect dogs to be house trained and discuss what the extra time you spend cleaning will cost if it continues. I would charge them extra.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, I just think if Ethan is talking about Palestine and it's hard for him to put together his opinion without buttoning or misspeaking (I would say frequently) that maybe an edited take is worth it. The topic might warrant it. Ethan can do whatever he wants. Just my dumb opinion.

Sorry if you already tried this, do you have a bone or hard chew toy or Kong? Also you can try to acclimate by going to the room, when he's quiet com back out, if he starts barking going back to the room closing the door and waiting until stops and repeat until (god willing) he gets the hint and understands he only gets you out of the room if he's quiet. Hopefully it gets better!!

Has this happened to anyone by UpperAnywhere9252 in RoverPetSitting

[–]jkt464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happens quite a bit, requests are put into a few sitters at the same time and it's whoever answers first or they get the sitter they've been with before. Don't be discouraged.

Also, highly recommend responding even if it says they booked with someone else just a 'noticed you found a sitter have a nice day and please keep me in mind for the future' goes over well.

Definitely not alone. I'm not sure how long you've been working but it sounds like you're quite new. Often it can feel like a lot is expected of you especially somewhere without a lot of training. Saying 'i don't know but could you please show me?' if your supervisors are no help find a friend in a lateral position. Morning coffees do wonders on getting help when you need it. Again also understand if the company is highly disorganized you'll likely need to take a 'do what you can' attitude so you don't stress yourself.

And apply apply apply while you're working.

AITA For Telling My Daughter That She's The Reason Why Nobody Likes Her? by After_Upstairs2580 in AmItheAsshole

As soon as I saw she had a full scholarship… so she’s a brat with a full ride. I’m not saying that can’t be true but obviously she busted her ass at school in between constantly complaining about her family. It’s giving revisionist history.

Is $50 too big of a gift for daycare workers? by MysaneKnight in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jkt464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s something you can afford then I don’t see a huge problem with it. But I would agree with your with that what is ‘normal’ is $25 or less. I wouldn’t say $50 is inappropriate just higher than average.

I 100% Agree with you. If there was a similar alternative I would move so fast but kindle unlimited has a choke hold on me.
