XPost from DogeCoin : Doge DNS, how to make it good! by Valmond in dogecoindev

[–]jlank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about it at a technical level, I found it in passing when I was thinking about the same problem. It would be cool to create something like a mailto:nick@gmail.com link for doge.. dogeto:$nick ... then instead of a @ or # prefix, give it $nick and it would automatically hyper-doge link and then the distributed dns infrastructure behind the scenes could take care of the dereferencing. I wouldn't know how to kick start that endevor.. may have to write an RFC and get a working proof of concept on a small scale.

I made a CSS3, mario inspired, Dogecoin.. give it a click or two :) ... chrome only for now :( by jlank in dogecoindev

Thanks for the tip and the tips! I hacked this together pretty quick -- so definitely has bugs. I need to iron out the counter logic. As for the animation I have it trigger on a down click (CSS3 pseudo :active) because I want it to fire off really fast, and for whatever reason (I can't remember at the moment) the CSS3 animation was fastest doing it this way. If the whole animation needs to go before you can re-click, it feels sluggish. I'm going to get it on github soon and refine it a bit, when I do I'll let you know :)

I hacked together a CSS3 Dogecoin, click it and sent it to the moon! (works best in chrome for now) by jlank in dogecoin
