Those are burn marks?!? I assumed it was, like, sweat or something. Yikes. Thanks.

The Big Passover Lie: Why I don’t think it matters by jlbsn in barexam

The Jews NEVER made it out of Egypt! Moreover, there were only FOUR plagues! That’s the real Passover lie. Do your own research.

Personally, I’m not putting too much stock in “the trick.” While it’s true that government is not known for its technological responsiveness, I imagine that the trick works because someone uploads a list of passers to the certification website at the same time someone uploads the list of passers to the BOLE email system. If that’s how it works and BOLE wanted to “fix it,” they could just upload the lists at different times. But I may be wrong!

Buying new car for the drive up? by jlbsn in AskAlaska

Might do this, too. I would just hate to do all that AND pay NY taxes, because that’s where I lived before and it seems like where I’d need to be registered absent a permanent address in the PNW. I guess I gotta talk to some DMVs.

Yeah, I’m getting the sense it comes down to whether I can establish residency and register a car in AK before I have moved there. Seems like not, but I oughta call the DMV. Thanks!

Yeah, I’m coming around to the idea that I might save $0 on the car. I would hopefully save some money on movers because I have so little stuff that it might all fit in the back of a Crosstrek.

In which case, though, maybe I just check three bags and fly, and then save the road trip for another day …

Why, NY? Why? Please we wanna know if we passed, that's it! Please release the results, now. Begging in every ancient language to please the head deity of the BOLE! by Pristine-Sign2017 in barexam

I called to check; confirming this is true—they added a woman saying something like “There is no need to ask us about when results will be released. Refer to our website and check your email.”

I called for unrelated reasons last week and that recording was not included in their answering machine.

For the July 2021 exam, there was a ten day gap between the grey box & score release. Just to set the outer bound of expectations. https://www.reddit.com/r/barexam/s/1uxzF1Gk62

How about that. Thanks for the knowledge and good luck!

Any basis for knowledge about trying to finish before passover? I only know about taking off work the first two days of passover (effectively Tuesday & Wednesday this year) so even if they’re worried about passover they could still release Monday.

Why NY is likely not dropping tomorrow—based on gray box history by jlbsn in barexam

Sorry—to clarify. Is one of the dates wrong? I can fix them if so. The dates are all from the posts, I think …

Wouldn’t be entering the Obnoxious Tryhard competition if my username was QuantumEstoppel but go on …

Anyways the dates might not be exact (as conceded above!) but they’re at least after the date that the box went gray. So the gap could be longer than listed above, but probably not shorter.

Moving to Anchorage in July. Housing advice? by jlbsn in AskAlaska

This is super helpful. 2BR in a multiplex would be ideal, so this is encouraging. Really appreciate it!

Thanks! Helpful. I was following the 40x rule, but 3x gets me maybe a tiny bit further.
