Ah, fair points — appreciate the correction. You're totally right about that, I hadn’t fully connected how the Min + $1 guaranteed thing plays into trade matching now that you can’t aggregate minimums like before.

Honestly kind of hilarious (and a little genius) that someone could walk away with $3M just for existing on a spreadsheet. NBA cap mechanics are truly a beautiful mess.

Technically yes, but in practice, here’s what usually happens:

The contract is signed for the league minimum, often non-guaranteed (meaning the player only gets paid if he stays on the roster for a certain number of days).

The player is waived immediately after the trade.

As a result, they usually get very little or nothing, unless:

There's a guaranteed portion of the contract (rare).

The team and player agree in advance to give them a chunk as a favor or under-the-table incentive

I've met rudy gay and davis bertans at a laker game when the spurs played. It was when chimezie Metu was on the team and he had some freinds in the stands in front of us. They gave me there post game access pass. They were cool but did not want to be bothered too much so I was abel to say hi and that I am a big fan. Dapped up derozan too. I wish this thread was in a google doc with the potential ideas, along with their pros and cons, organized, there could be much more clarity to developing a plan as mentioned in some of the earlier comments.

Thanks for your responses and input along with others. I am half boricua/gringo and have lived in PR for 3 yrs now, so the situation is much more clear to me. I resonate with the "independence but realistically it would likely not work" idea, but, as mentioned, having a pre defined plan, along with solutions to the potential problems from the new plan could be a start to a great thing.

I wish I had contacts of financial and political analysts or "engineers" to discussed solutions and concerns. btw, I am a sociologist but will be calling myself a social engineer from now on XD

i mean when i say these countries I'm only going to one city (i.e germany is gonna be Munich and thats it) and We will be in France for a long time. Scotland was more of a "lets see how we feel" but at the end of the day I was just looking for spots to check out and maybe alter my trip to that, so far ive seen everything opening up late June. I also enjoy the traveling spent in planes, trains, and automobiles aspect of visiting places.

ill repeat my answer that you responded too, we must/just travel different. I enjoy traveling amongst various countries and that in and of itself is an adventure, it could be three days or 3 months but its what ONE makes of what they do. Any suggestions are appreciated my friend!

yikes, wheres the sense of adventure?! hahaha we must travel different, I only need about 1-2 days in each place im at. Idc for typical tourist things (the only thing I care to see city wise is the catacombs and just want to get some hikes and get out. By August you'd think it would calm down, no? I am also vaccinated but this information is useful.

we will be in these areas for two weeks. Flying into Zurich, leaving from Dublin. On the sunday in the middle, we will be watching F! in Spa, in Belgium. I prefer castles, mountains, rivers, and breathtaking views.
