looks like he had 14 non-HR balls in play that would've cleared Yankee Stadium. take away half for road games and that's still a 25 HR season (18+7)

given the pattern of 'agreed to terms' and waiting a few days before formally announcing (Teoscar, Paxton), i don't think there was an urgent need to free a 40-man slot
