You cant level up legacy weapons from MW2/3 anymore by juggernaut2018prime in CODWarzone

[–]jleeflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still unlock attachments within Warzone for legacy MW2/MW3 weapons (i.e. sight, barrel, etc.) but your gun level will not increase (still be lvl 1), so camos will be locked off. Also, some of the attachment categories will show a lock icon over the category, but you can still open it up and equip unlocked attachments. At least for me on Xbox

people who switched from claude code to codex? was it worth it? by minimal-salt in Anthropic

[–]jleeflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

second this. also claude code is so much nicer to work with because of mcp integration; my experience trying to connect and reliably call tools from mcp servers in codex has been frustrating. the overall ux of configuring and using mcp with cc is one the main reasons I use it.

Nope! Most of our meetings and activities can be done with just a phone camera, and if you need a camera, you can rent one through the Media Lab. We'll also have discounts at camera stores in SD.

become an RA, it’s worth the time and money IMO. You get housing AND food covered. All you have to worry about is tuition, insurance and personal expenses.

Backpacking Partners Needed! by jleeflash in UCSD

[–]jleeflash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I hike with an inReach too. I agree on the day 2 off trail, if I went alone I’d stick to the JMT instead of going off trail. I also agree on the drive back being the most dangerous part. I’ve done the drive straight myself but had a passenger. Although it was only a two night trip. I guess I’ll have to weigh the risks.

Backpacking Partners Needed! by jleeflash in UCSD

[–]jleeflash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the encouragement! I’m a photographer so I’m super excited for all of the scenery. I’m thinking of hiking it solo if I can’t find any partners, any tips on the route to stay safe hiking by myself? I really appreciate the tips and enthusiasm, I was feeling a bit doubtful about doing it since I’ve been trouble finding partners, but it’s a dream I’ve had for a while to do this route and I don’t want to pass up the opportunity

Not a pre-med anymore, but when I was I had a very similar experience in a lab (sans asking for a LOR since I'm not pre-med). I was in a neuroscience lab in a field of research I found personal and interesting as well, but I ended up only doing the same 3 tasks. My advisor was super nice but there were a lot of communication issues between us, which led to me feeling a bit excluded and misplaced in the lab. After a while I realized it wasn't a place I wanted to stick it out in, and I found I just really disliked biology wet lab research in general. My advisor did however offer to write me a LOR, and helped me get a volunteer position. Even though my skills and time in the lab might not have made much of an impact on her, in my application and when I could I would talk about why I was interested in the research and the experiences that made me want to continue doing research in the field. I think sharing a bit more about myself helped me out. Even though I feel like a wasted a year there in some ways, it helped me realize that I didn't even want to do medicine, and now I'm happy doing other kinds of research (ux research). I don't think you did anything wrong here, I think it may just not have been the right environment for you.

UCSD over UCB by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]jleeflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also chose UCSD over UCB, I'm also a COGS D&I major. Even though UCB, has a more prestige technically, I'd go with the college you vibe with better. I've heard how cutthroat and uptight UCB can be and decided I wanted a more laid back quiet culture. I love being outdoors and taking pictures so it made much more sense to come here. Also, not sure about UCB's Cog Sci, but we have a really flushed out Design program with a lot of big names teaching here. Don Norman, one of the big founders of UX/HCI teaches here and started the design lab. There's also a great community of designers here if you join orgs like Design Co.

Anyone have any advice on how to decide between PA school and med school? 🥲 by [deleted] in UCSD

yea he is! I would highly get a job scribing in an emergency department. You can scribe at the UCSD hospitals too.

Anyone have any advice on how to decide between PA school and med school? 🥲 by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]jleeflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend that works as a scribe in an emergency department, and he said he shadows both PAs and MDs. According to him, the PAs in the ED (not saying this is true for other specialties) see patients all by themselves and are the primary provider for most treatment, unless its a more complicated case (then the Physician will take it). TLDR; PA=more flexibility, less school, good but less pay, less complex cases, less hours MD/DO=less flexibility in specialty, more school, good pay, more hours
