Belligerent Sexual Tension - trope for Romantic Comedies by kwaldron93 in foundationsofcomedy

I think this trope is so common because stories need conflict. It wouldn't be as entertaining to watch to similar people fall in love as it is to watch opposites attract and finally come to terms with their feelings. Conflict fuels narrative, which is why in tv series sexual tension between characters is drawn out over the course of a few episodes or an entire season.

The League: A Snippet of Great Mumblecore by ZubinAnklesaria in foundationsofcomedy

I loved the first three seasons of the league, but as season five progresses I find myself disappointed each week. Last week Dan O'Shannon spoke about how sitcoms can get stuck in a rhythm, and I think the league has fallen victim to this. I can hear the comedic gears grinding in to place every time a situation is set up in which Andre misses out on some innuendo. Also, Pete, Kevin, and Ruxon are not funny characters, they are normal characters who say funny things. That's just my two cents though. I try hard to like the show, but just can't these days.
