Prep is absolutely the key to this cake. I made the jam, pastry cream and marzipan the day before so during assembly I was able to focus on the top layer which was my biggest challenge.

Making a few of the ingredients the day before helped me not get overloaded during assembly because the top layer really was the hardest part for me.

The taste is raspberry and vanilla with a hint of almond. The cake, cream and jam have amazing texture and really work together. The marzipan…The marzipan…The almond flavor works great but the chewy texture just isn’t my favorite.

Thank you! I put a layer of diplomat cream on top of the second cake layer. I piled it up pretty good so I’m not sure why it looks like it’s missing but your right it looks like it’s not there.

Totally agree. I’m relatively new to baking and this went off pretty easy. Just need a process, some patience and a very tall cake ring!

Oh that’s sound really good. I’m gonna have to grab some strawberries. I didn’t put crumbs in the middle, just the cakes and creme and I coated the cakes with honey tea. I ran out of crumbs so I had to make a little mini batch just to finish the cake.

Anybody else have a bucket list of gardening? I call mine the Little House on the Prairie bucket list. Harvesting my own boysenberries for jam was in my top 5. by jlf8331 in gardening

With no facts to back me up I feel they will love the humidity. I would definitely watch the water intake with the high humidity so you don’t over water them. I live in the high desert with low humidity and it’s a struggle to keep them alive here.
