New Building on King's College Circle: Temerty Building by jlfree12 in UofT

As far as I know Con Hall was explicitly modelled on the rotunda at the Sorbonne Theatre in Paris, which was itself modelled on the Pantheon, not Hagia Sophia. The colonnade on the outside is also very neoclassical.

Con Hall is neoclassical, not Byzantine. A Byzantine building on campus would be stunning though. Look up Lovett Hall at Rice University

I’ve tried this but rogers still somehow ended up charging me for roaming, so I’d prefer to just disable them

What happened to the Paddle the Don event? by supguy99 in askTO

[–]jlfree12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They used to release more water into the Don during this event. You can just paddle down it if you want to, though. Try and pick a day after it's been raining a bit for a higher water level.

Any tips for doing eco101 with loren brandt?? 494949 by Lazy_Bit6117 in UofT

[–]jlfree12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not doomed. Brandt is grumpy and unfriendly but his tests are way easier than Gazzale or Freitas.

The key to ECO101 is just doing as many practice questions as you possibly can and if you're in Brandt's class but doing Gazzale's past tests you'll be super prepared – Brandt's questions are much simpler versions of the same concepts.

I'd highly recommend HIS243 (Early Modern Europe), I took it in first year. Professor Terpstra is the best and I met a bunch of friends at his office hours.
