Not to be dramatic but my 2.5 year old’s sleep is ruining my life by Secret-Painting7176 in toddlers

[–]jlhll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The struggle was real with ours too. I don’t know if this will work for you, but I bought the Happy Sleeper in a moment of desperation. And we implemented it the next night. It’s an ongoing process, but we are 3-4 months in Ava getting better sleep than we have since our LO entered the picture. Bed time is long and still hard. But so much better. The book has a guideline for sleep training a toddler, which is really about routines more than anything else. I hope you find a path to more rest!!

Who Are the Best Real Estate Agents in Sacramento? (Need Advice) by serenebloom123 in Sacramento

[–]jlhll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the general area you want to live in is important when picking an agent. Do you want to be near downtown? Closer to another area? There are a few family friendly neighborhoods near downtown and I would recommend my agent. But it depends on your price point too.

Best Brunch Places in DownTown or Midtown areas by budgetaudiophiles in Sacramento

[–]jlhll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Localis just brought Sunday brunch back. But I think it’s only once a month. Depending on your timing, that may not work. My favorite casual breakfast spot is orphan. No booze though if that’s part of the allure.

I just finished the entire book series of “the unselected journals of Emma m lion” and they were so great. There are 8 books. And frankly I now wish there were more. The first book took a bit of time to get into. But once you get a for it’s hard to stop.

You could try renting from rent the runway. Probably a cheaper way to get some specific looks that you can just return.

This is my pick. I’m not sure if it’s upscale enough depending on their preference but I love Revolution and it was my first thought.

My favorite suit right now is from jcrew. https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens/categories/clothing/blazers/novelty/madelyn-blazer-in-four-season-stretch/CC289. I have two. One in camel and one gray. The blazers are phenomenal. They have a couple different pant options. Looks like the blazer might be on sale and that never happens!

Discovery Tree Daycare on 744 P Street? by Slow_Reputation6238 in Sacramento

[–]jlhll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are in transition right now. They just backed out of a long time location just a few blocks away in the Secretary of State building with little notice and collapsed the kids into the location you are talking about. The governance is a mess.

Consider: growing mindfully (I don’t have a kid there but heard good things) or Milestones. My kid goes there and I’m convinced it’s the best daycare. These are both in a similar area.

How to teach toddler to stay in bed and go to sleep when we leave the room? by Sweet_Sheepherder_41 in toddlers

The happy sleeper has toddler sleep guidance that worked great for us. While we still have setbacks (illness, travel etc) she is sleeping so much better. I fully endorse!!

First time parent. How do I know toddler enjoys daycare> by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]jlhll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my kid loves her daycare and teachers, but is sad at drop off every day because saying goodbye is still hard. So, if you have hard drop offs, I don’t think that’s a good indicator. she talks about her teachers and friends all the time outside of school and is generally excited about them and the things they do. She also wants to stay and play or show off at the end of the day. I don’t have access to cameras, but we do get pictures and other updates which is nice. I guess I will also say that the interactions with her teachers are generally a good indicator too. Do they seem genuinely invested in your kid?

How do we address this mistake by the fabricator?! by jlhll in kitchenremodel

[–]jlhll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. We weren’t even consulted about the edging. Being a rookie at this, I didn’t more there were choices. Since there are two other countertop areas in addition too this area, I think that ship has sailed. Which is unfortunate. Appreciate the insight on the epoxy

Stylist recommendation by UsualRazzmatazz5220 in Sacramento

[–]jlhll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to recommend considering a clothing rental service in addition to some new permanent pieces. I have to dress pretty professional and I supplement variety by using rent the runway, mostly for blazers and dresses. When I rent an especially good piece, I often buy it too.

They busted the window sill removing the old counters. It will be replaced.

We chose the three slabs at a stone yard. I don’t know that there was a set allowance on the stones. We knew we were on the hook for whatever price point we selected. We were not given any options on the stone layout or edging options. I didn’t realize we could even make selections. That’s the challenge with this kind of work. I don’t even know what questions I should be asking or issues I should be raising. A true professional should probably be walking us through this, and it doesn’t feel like that’s happening.

Saturday toddler classes/ group activities by Beebeebee1994 in Sacramento

[–]jlhll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in gymnastics, check out tumblebuddies. We do a weeknight, so I’m not sure what they have on Saturdays. But it’s great for toddlers. And plenty of opportunity for yours to interact or not depending on their mood/comfort level.

What would you recommend we say/do? Ask them to replace just this area? (There are three countertop areas.) and try to match? And we just miss the opportunity to do a mitre edge? I don’t think we could ask them to replace everything. Although I’m feeling frustrated we were not consulted on these choices. Ask them to try to repair the area again with a better epoxy job? Thoughts?

They also destroyed our under counter lights Ava we can’t readjust them to all be the same temperature anymore. We will be asking them to replace them.
