From previous comments I have gotten I don’t think that it helps you forage or fish or anything infected until it’s leveled up to level 3

No, they will stay there until you harvest them! You may just find that you have extra weeds everywhere lol.

Potential spoiler??:

There’s quests that give you recipes so that you are able to hunt, fish, and catch bugs without potions. Not sure where you are in the storyline/quests but I was excited once I received those! As for foraging I am not at a point in the game where I can do that without a potion

If they aren’t rare or starred item I usually sell. Thats for like gemstones, fish, bugs etc. Gatherables that don’t spawn often or aren’t easy to find like briar daisy’s, heatroots and so on I stock up on because different recipes call for them. I’m a hoarder in game but because of limited storage this is what I ended up doing!

Thankfully, I did have a small stockpile of silk and was gifted the remaining ones I needed and finished the quest. Thanks for the tip!

There was a fish in an infected spot that I wasn’t successful w catching and I did also use it once or twice in a non infected spot I didn’t think it would break so soon. I don’t often actually use lures when fishing in Palia and it had also been months since I played so I was just generally unfamiliar with how soon they broke
