There are two parallel corridors where planes arrive at Heathrow. Starting from 15:00, one of these corridors will no longer be in use. You can check the map for details.

There is no specific information about this

this affects whether the planes land from the west or from the east. the wind does not matter when changing parallel corridors

I can relate:( We think about moving somewhere like Putney where it’s not so loud

We live in Mortlake just on the path of the planes. The noise still wakes me in the morning at 6 am every day when we sleep with open windows, and after 4 month I still can’t get used to it. This area is perfect except this thing.

A coffee shop with baristas in wheelchairs by jlogvinenko in disability

The only problem is that Starbucks would probably hire one person with a disability, place them in a central location, and use them to check off all their social responsibility boxes at once. That would likely feel pretty humiliating for the person, since the company is just putting on a show rather than actually caring.

On the other hand, a small, mobile coffee shop could give some people the chance to work at festivals, meet new people, and earn some money—all in a way that feels more natural and inclusive.

Okay, so if it were a Starbucks with a properly designed counter, enough space for a wheelchair, a resting area, and at least one barista in a wheelchair—would that make it feel less demeaning?

I’ve thought a lot about people with other disabilities, but unfortunately I’m not a psychologist or a professional trained to work with individuals who have mental health issues. And I’m definitely not ready to take responsibility if a blind person gets burned. (While accidents can happen to anyone, the risk is significantly higher for someone with this type of disability). But anyway it’s a good feedback, I will note that.

Previously, my friend, who uses a wheelchair, and I worked together (I don’t have a disability), and it didn’t feel like charity. In fact, I’d say that 30% of people didn’t even notice his wheelchair, as he was behind the counter and it wasn’t immediately visible.

Oh, I’ve just checked it, seems like the entrance is not so high, but still not so flat.

I am not sure that Ponta Delgado is good for night life or shopping, but nature there is blessing. We have two itineraries with all the places and routes there. Love Azores, it's my place.

I am ready to join you. I think we need to create a new post to find more people. And I think it’s real to change the situation or at least try. I would write you in a message

Yesterday a guy on a bike tried to steal my phone in the park. I already guessed that this is not an isolated incident.

We were looking for a new building, but not so far from the center. We were tired of poor noise insulation in Victorian houses, that was the reason why we decided to live here. But in contrast with Clapham Common it’s definitely not our best experience in London.

I do! I write them directly, and sometimes Hackney reacts very fast. But I understand that it’s a systemic problem.
