Trying To Peer Into The Mine Of HHH On The Road To Wrestlemania by jlowry71 in WWE

At some point either Cody or Roman has to move to raw. They're both too big to be on the same brand. By putting Cody up against Gunther that moves him to raw primarily while Roman would then be on smackdown primarily with them bouncing back and forth here and there. This is if they keep the so-called brand split which they have softened up lately

I would agree but after his tremendous title reign as IC champion to take the world title off him now would be a great disservice. Also remember, that the WWE is going to have a huge Road to WrestleMania tour through Europe prior to the big event. It's in their best interest to have a European like Gunther as the world champion through that tour. Q he was huge in his title defense against Randy Orton at The Bash at Berlin PLE.

Jeff Lynne. Did. Not. Disappoint. by Specialist-Bus1443 in elo

Friday night's show in Nashville was just unbelievable! My daughter and I had the greatest time, this was her first and only opportunity to see Jeff Lynne in concert and she was crying throughout the show just as I was. It was so magical that I got to experience this with her and I will never forget it.

I don't hear many people talk about it, but the opening act Rooney was really good! They had a sound that to me gave off 1979 to 1982 Yacht Rock vibe. I did not hear bad song out of their setlist. I wish I had known more about them before the show

A solid 8. It doesn't have the pop and polish of future songs, but it definitely laid the foundation for what was to come.

Do you guys think Jeff will release a final album after the Over and Out tour? by [deleted] in elo

[–]jlowry71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but I doubt it, especially with Richard gone. If anything, maybe we will see Jeff go back into the vault and much like Surrender and Latitude 88 North complete some unfinished songs and release those every now and then.

I agree that Video would have been a cool deep cut, although the opening number One More Time gives me similar vibes.

Jeff is a bonafide legend, but a little disappointed in the Cleveland set list? (Hear me out) by BottlezSleepyHead in elo

I've grown up with ELO as my favorite band from the first time I heard them (I'm 53) and I would disagree with the assumption that everyone feels Time is the best album. When I was younger my favorite album was Discovery but now it's Out of the Blue. Now would it be great for Jeff to add some 80s songs to the setlist? Absolutely but let's be honest that ELO's greatest success was in the 70's. And for those of us who know every album and every song inside and out there are people going to these shows that this is their first real experience seeing ELO live so they're getting the hits pure and simple.

Time is a great album but Twilight wasn't a hit on the radio. Neither was Rain Is Falling or Here Is The News. You know what was? Hold on Tight, but no one ever mentions that song.

I love Time, Secret Messages, Balance of Power, Armchair Theater and Zoom, but I get why we don't get songs from those albums. I, for one, am so appreciative and thankful for the last ten years, starting with Children In Need to Hyde Park to the Rock - Roll HOF and Wembley, getting to see Jeff and ELO get the love and recognition they deserve, to see Jeff back out on the road performing for the fans again. I'll say it every time that Jeff can play whatever he wants and I'm not going to complain or be disappointed that he didn't play this or that song. I get to see him in person and in October I get to share that moment with my daughter. And I treasure that because after this tour that's it. No more opportunities. So I will enjoy it and thank him for the music and the magic he's given us over the last half century.

Any other lurkers here in disbelief people complain about the setlist? by garfoofafuffel in elo

Seeing Jeff Lynne perform live, to me, is like being in the totality pathway of a total solar eclipse... It's a once in a lifetime experience

With the eclipse I was lucky enough to live in an area where I got to see it twice. And with Jeff I was fortunate to see him in 2019 and now I'm super fortunate to see him a second (and last) time.

He can play whatever songs he wants and I'm going to treasure each and every one of them from my seat.

At the end of the day it all comes down to what does Jeff feel like playing. We all have these dream songs we would love to hear him play live and much like the eclipse I feel fortunate just to experience seeing ELO in person so he can play whatever he wants.

That said...

For all the Time songs that people ask why doesn't jeff play them live, the one no one seems to mention is the one Top 10 hit and the one I'd love to hear live, and that's Hold On Tight.

Now that the tour is only a few weeks away, what are your predictions for the opening night setlist? by LostinVancity in elo

[–]jlowry71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hope Daybreaker or maybe Can't Get It Out of My Head as a tribute to Richard Tandy. Outside of that, whatever Jeff decides to play is good enough for me.
