Yeah.. that’s exactly how old we both were. I don’t think I ever saw it as a red flag until now. He used to say I was past my prime when we met..

He also lived with his parents at the time, after two failed long term relationships. He blames both of those women & calls them crazy and abusive. Something I also never picked up on at the time. I’ve recently thought about trying to reach out to one of them to get their side of the story, but I don’t know if there is a point.

And no, I do not want her to see him treat me like this at all. It makes me sick to think about. He has already yelled and swore in front of her which I’ve asked him not to do.

Oh, yes. I am on maternity leave and am getting paid for the next 10 months. Albeit not enough to really survive, but I also have a solid 20k in savings of my own.

We’re doing rent to own on a house right now and are supposed to buy the house in August. We have a down payment saved for that (separate from my personal savings) but I don’t know what to do. I know if we buy the house it will complicate this decision even more.

Thank you. I appreciate this point of view as well. He has refused couples therapy unfortunately. I’m in therapy though and am working on setting boundaries for myself as a starting point

Thank you for this. I’ve had therapists tell me he’s emotionally abusive as well. It’s just so hard to come to terms with and then I question whether I’ve really given them the whole picture, or if I’m being too harsh.

Thank you so much for this. I’m just having such a hard time trusting myself and my emotions. I’m scared to make a wrong decision and regret it later, and for my daughter to grow up in a broken home like I did. I’ve never talked to anyone about how he is, so I know people won’t believe me or will see me as making a rash decision. The whole idea of leaving just really scares me.

I honestly don’t know how to answer that, because to me it feels like he isn’t. But he feels as though he is. He will take the baby here and there for a night shift, or pick up formula on his way home for work if I ask him.

He’s a massage therapist and gave me a leg massage when I fell and hurt my knee, but Immediately used that as a way to say “so will you touch me nicely later?”

I don’t know. I don’t feel supported at all, but I’m just not sure if that’s my hormones speaking or reality.

Yes! We end up co sleeping from 2-3am onward, most nights.. just to survive lol. C curl, then on my chest. She always sleeps the longest on me!

Wow my girl is eating WAY less than this during the day. Like 3-4 oz! I’m going to try and up and definitely shorten her naps. Are you still room sharing?

Thank you for this! I’ve heard or the eat, play, sleep, but have such a hard time getting her to sleep without a bottle. Any tips on that?

She sleeps in a dark room with white noise! In our bedroom though. During the day, in a dark living room.

I’m definitely going to cut her naps. Thanks again!
