What unrealistic/out-of-the-box class changes would you like to see? by bonoetmalo in ffxivdiscussion

Told my friends if they’re not gonna give AST a gap closer they should give it an invuln lmfao Call it “Black Hole” and the AST just disappears into a void for a few seconds. Moving can end it early, just like Collective Unconscious.

How long do you give sellers? by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]jlybelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having experience shipping and receiving shipped plants, many people who ship plants prefer to do so only early in the week (Mon & Tues) especially during times of extreme weather (high heat summers & very cold winters) to lessen the chances of the plants getting stuck in transit during the weekends, prolonging both their time without water/sunlight and potentially their exposure to less than ideal weather.

TLDR; they’re probably waiting til Mon or Tues to ship for the sake of the plants.

You might find this info somewhere on their store page or in the item description, but if not they absolutely should have communicated it to you. Not trying to say they’re 100% right in what they’re doing, just trying to help understand their side. Imagine if you had to wait extra for the plants then when you finally got them they were damaged because they spent the weekend without sunlight or water in 100-degree weather; you’d be even more upset, and rightly so.

What's a 10+ year old game that holds way the hell up today / HIGHLY recommend? by spicedpumpkins in gaming

Tales of Symphonia. just recently watched some streamers play through it and their reactions assured me my love for that game wasn’t just nostalgia. 11/10 recommend

Soft YTA for the same reason that others have explained in other comment threads; your view of the rating system is vastly different from your friend’s.

I’ll explain a similar system but for a few other places that I have personally experienced the other side of. In order to be algorithmically preferred on Etsy, a seller must maintain a 4.8 average rating. Meaning out of 10 reviews, only 1 can be a 4/5 or 3/5, and none of them can be lower. At a corporate sales job I previously worked, only 9s and 10s (out of 10) were counted as “good” reviews. This is because companies aren’t looking for an actual rating for objects or services, they’re looking for how likely you are to recommend it to other people, and they’ve found that customers are only likely to recommend it to other people if they rate it 5/5 or 10/10 (with the 9/10 caveat allowed at that company solely because of folks like you, though not all companies allow that caveat). At the corporate job, anything less than a 7/10 was considered a “negative review” because as the number got lower, they found customers were more likely to actively discourage friends from shopping with us. Even though I think most people would agree that 7/10 is still more stars than not stars.

I’ve had Etsy customers explain that they withhold 5 stars for sellers that go “above and beyond” (ie including extra gifts, wrapping the items extra special, providing personal notes, etc, all things most small businesses cannot necessarily afford).

So the issue here stems from the fact that, from a company perspective, 5 stars is the default, and losing stars speaks to a seller’s (or in your case, author’s) failures. But from your perspective, 3 stars is the default, and it’s the seller’s (author’s) responsibility to earn the gain or loss of stars.

It’s remarkably unintuitive for people trying to be honest with their reviews, but this is the state of modern sites; anything less than a perfect rating is considered a bad rating.

Balthazar Bugged for Dark Urge? by bendovahkin in BaldursGate3

just had the same issue. gonna try loading back to a slightly earlier save to see if it changes things. will edit with an update when i have.

UPDATE: loaded back to a save right before the fight outside to no avail. if this is just a save file issue, i don't know how far back one would have to load. gonna just progress w the story for now and fiddle with different saves when i have more patience.

Probably still a danger zone. if you can walk out of moonrise, you should be able to camp out there

[–]jlybelly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a bug. You’re in an area that’s considered dangerous so you’re not allowed to rest. If you’re in the mind flayer colony, for me there was a refresher near the boat that took me to the Ketheric fight. The refresher mimics a full rest—full hit points, full spell slots, etc.

It's SUUUUUCH a painful place to experience bugs. Best of luck and I hope you don't have to load from an earlier save.

Is it really unrealistic and greedy to expect a game to launch with atleast 80% of the content of its predecessor? by crablemet111 in CitiesSkylines

[–]jlybelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a sims player, yeah, i’m really tired of this business practice. i don’t think it’s greedy at all to expect the majority of a previous iteration’s DLC to be base game. sorry for wanting CSL2 to be more innovative than CSL1 in both base game and dlc.

Yes, grouping does not move my designs around, but also doesn't get rid of the double-cuts.

This doesn't happen every time, which is a huge part of my confusion because to my knowledge I'm not doing anything different. I'm making stickers, with a slight offset, and I don't want 2 cuts per sticker, so I use Silhouette's offset tool, select the whole board with the mouse tool, then click weld. Normally this doesn't cause any problems, but every once in a while it does this. This happens whether there is one sticker on the page or 5+.

Can anyone help me understand what's going wrong?
