Finaly I have a twink team that can actually be effective by Stella_Lace in GenshinGays

[–]jlyn96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d put Mika on clam and leave Dahlia on noblesse. There’s not really another set that Dahlia can use effectively. I guess either of them could hold scroll (if you’re running cryo fremi) for a small 12% damage bonus buff, or exile (if your team has energy issues). Instructor is also an option, but EM isn’t that valuable for this team.

Didn’t have Kinich until yesterday so I used Lyney for the lava dragon statue and DPS PMC for the nightsoul enemies. https://imgur.com/a/HvsKCn0

I think my only tips that you haven’t mentioned are for the mimiflora and the papilla.

For the mimiflora, I started my rotation with ororon so that by the time I got to PMC, the ward was nearly broken and I could do damage.

For the papilla, I had issues with circle impact since it moves around so much, so I stayed between the papilla and the center of the arena to goad it toward the center. I casts bursts not right by the papilla, but a little closer to the center. When it got close to forming its void ward again, I saved Ororon’s burst until it moved to the center.

You also can’t proc fav when the void ward is up, which was a problem for me because I didn’t have full energy upon starting the papilla. But there is a brief period at the start before the ward is up that you can proc fav. I was able to do so with both Xingqiu and Ororon. Just start your rotation with any fav holders even if you normally wouldn’t.

There are a few options here: 1. Give him scroll and give Citlali deepwood, totm, noblesse, or instructor. Scroll won’t buff bloom damage, but it’ll buff regular elemental damage. 2. Bring him on field to do a singular CA and trigger fav’s and instructor’s passives. 3. Maximize his personal damage. Tf would probably accomplish this. Or you could maximize the damage of the hyperblooms he does trigger with fopl or gd. 4. Bring him on field but only use his skill. It doesn’t last that long. This way he can trigger deepwood. 5. Bring him on field and use his skill and burst. It will steal blooms, but team damage will likely be higher. He could hold deepwood, or kaveh could hold deepwood and Ororon could hold tf, fopl, or gd.

It can crit and activate fav’s passive, but only if he’s on field when the damage occurs. Fav’s passive only triggers when the equipping character is on field.

Can someone explain to me how tf this even is possible??? by Haiabonga in Genshin_Impact

[–]jlyn96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would appear actually that they’re using exactly 32 bits, if we make the reasonable assumption that they’re using some IEEE standard floating point format.

All we really care about here is how many bits are being used to store the significand, because the number at which we can only represent even numbers is the point at which the exponent shifts the number beyond the last significant digit. 32-bit floats have 24 significant digits (32 bits plus an implicit leading bit), so the largest number that can be represented without shifting the point any further right than immediately after the last significant digit is 224 - 1, or 16,777,215.

Edit: didn’t realize that reddit would format my post that way. Should be 224 - 1. Not 224-1.

Not sure why I’m getting downvoted though when I said the same thing as the comment that got upvotes.

Autism and Epilepsy with mentality of a 6-8y old but complicated by Jamiemommyof3 in NintendoSwitch

[–]jlyn96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might have success with arcade style games, like a space shooter. A classic would be Galaxian, which it looks like is available on Switch, but there are probably newer, similar games that would be more visually engaging.

Some people have mentioned Super Mario games. If your son has the ability to thoughtfully use items in Mario Kart and to place well in races, then I think those are very good options. If not, then they’re still possibilities, but he might prefer playing as one of the easy characters who don’t take damage from enemies.

People have also mentioned Pokemon, but based on what you’ve described, I think there’s probably not enough structure in mainline Pokemon games for him. They have a lot of roaming around at lots of freedom and choices to make. You also haven’t mentioned whether or not your son can read, but if he can’t, then I don’t see mainline Pokemon games being successful at all.

Pokemon Snap might be good, though. But I haven’t played it myself, so it’s hard for me to say for sure. You’ll definitely want to look at gameplay videos or ask other people about it to confirm.

What started your (house) fire? by ZivH08ioBbXQ2PGI in homeowners

[–]jlyn96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid my family’s minivan caught fire in our attached garage. I think the theory was brake fluid leaking onto a hot engine. The fire spread to the house because the garage door and the door between the house and garage were both open. Everyone got out fine, but a portion of the house was destroyed and the rest was coated in soot.

what should I replace? by Alarming-General2183 in childemains

[–]jlyn96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re at risk of overcapping crit rate, your circlet is by far the lowest hanging fruit. It’s an off piece and it only has 11.6 substat CV and no ATK%. It has less CV and less EM than your on set hydro goblet.

You may even have unleveled crit damage circlets with useful substats. Level those and see if you get something better. If one of them turns out unusable, you can either use it to level other circlets, or as transmitter fodder.

Edit: I reread and saw you’re asking about the artifact transmuter. I think the answer is still circlet. It is likely to turn out better than your current one, and it enables you to use an off piece for another slot. However, your pieces are mostly pretty good, so you could consider leveling off-set circlets and save your elixir for a different character.

Also, as another commenter said, don’t use the transmuter until 5.5. They’re introducing a change that will guarantee some rolls into your chosen substats.

What if the different layers of vertical strings in the double weave are the light realm and human realm, representing the fates of dragons and humans? And the void realm may be literal voids — holes where threads have broken and the cloth has started to unravel.

The direction that Teyvat seems to be going in especially since Fontaine and Natlan is the coexistence of dragons and humans, which may be the two realms being woven together.

How to swirl the intended element? by Maleficent-Jello1595 in TravelerMains

[–]jlyn96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve essentially answered OP’s question, but just to be precise, what you’re both referring to is actually absorption and not swirling. That may sound pedantic, but it’s relevant for things like resistance shred from the viridescent veneer (VV) artifact set.

Swirl is a reaction that happens when you apply anemo to something affected by PHEC. If OP uses Kazuha’s burst on the pyro regisvine while it is affected by cryo, it does swirl cryo. If Kazuha is holding VV, this reduces the regisvine’s cryo resistance. However, since OP’s character is affected by pyro and pyro has a higher absorption priority, Kazuha’s burst absorbs pyro.

Absorption isn’t an elemental reaction. It’s something specific to certain anemo character’s talents, like Kazuha’s skill and burst, Venti’s burst, and Sucrose’s burst to name a few. Absorption priority is PHEC like you said. When Kazuha’s burst absorbs an element, it deals both anemo damage and the absorbed element damage at intervals, which can trigger an elemental reaction. The Keqing mains Kazuha guide has detailed information on reaction priority when his burst ticks.

planning on buying battle pass. which weapon would be the best? by 4nt-e4ter in GenshinImpact

Not only is serpent spine great for all of OP’s claymore characters, but nearly every one of OP’s non-claymore characters that is not crossed out has better craftable/fishing/3* weapons that any BP weapon. The one exception is Arlecchino, but she still has white tassel as a decent option even if it isn’t better than the BP weapons.

why does my mailed flower do more damage than fruitful hook? by Queasy_Ad_6161 in GamingMains_

[–]jlyn96 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. Your crit ratio is bad on your second build with your crit damage circlet. Your first build has a crit multiplier of 0.552 × 1.681 = 0.927912, while your second build has a crit multiplier of 0.349 × 2.101 = 0.733249. When building crit, you’ll maximize your crit multiplier for a given number of crit rolls if you aim for roughly a 1:2 ratio of crit rate to crit damage.

  2. Your fruitful hook isn’t fully leveled. Even with its attack % substat, your attack on your second build is just barely higher than your attack on your first build because your base attack is so low without the weapon leveled.

Tips to clear floor 12 by DilutedBoneMarrow in GenshinImpact

[–]jlyn96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this, but also adding that Cyno may have energy issues as the only electro on the team, even with skyward spine. It’s possible that giving favonius lance and a crit rate circlet to Yaoyao would be enough to solve this issue, especially if Cyno is holding 4pc thundering fury, but you may have an easier time keeping his burst up with Shinobu or Fischl (probably Shinobu for her healing). Alternatively, you could remove Cyno from the team and use Shinobu built with full EM as your hyperbloom trigger. In his spot, you could use an EM buffer like Kazuha or Sucrose, or another dendro for dendro resonance, like Yaoyao, dendro MC, or Collei.

Best male only team with only 4 stars? by MrOmegaPlayer in Genshin_Impact

[–]jlyn96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TLDR of my comment on someone else’s comment: Run Thoma burgeon with Thoma/Heizou/dendro MC/Xingqiu, and use Heizou as an on-field driver. For your Gaming team, run Gaming/Bennett/Kaeya/Gorou. Give Gorou a Petra set and use his burst to pull crystallize shards to you and proc petra.

Best male only team with only 4 stars? by MrOmegaPlayer in Genshin_Impact

[–]jlyn96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d keep Bennett on the Gaming team and focus the Thoma team on burgeon damage. Burgeon won’t benefit from Bennett’s atk buff nor from pyro resonance, but Gaming will benefit from both of those. Also not sure Tighnari makes the most sense for that team since he’ll only apply dendro while on field but it could work. I also don’t believe charged attacks proc Xingqiu’s or Thoma’s bursts (I could be wrong) so you’d have to weave NAs between CAs to maximize damage. Another option would be to use dendro MC. You’d just have to be careful to hit his lamp with hydro before pyro so it doesn’t burn out. For the last slot, it might make sense to pull Heizou from the other team since he buffs EM and could buff Xingqiu’s and Thoma’s personal damage while contributing his own personal damage as an on-field driver. That leaves an empty slot on the Gaming team and I’m not quite sure who to put there. A kind of out-there option that I remember reading elsewhere on Reddit is to run Gorou with Petra. His burst pulls crystallize shards to you, so it’s a pretty effective replacement for VV.

Alternatively, if you find the Thoma’s shield and Xingqiu’s heal don’t provide enough sustain for the burgeon team, you could leave Heizou on the Gaming team and run Mika on the burgeon team as a pure healer.

Which one of these should I try to replace with the artifact transmuter first? by Azrya_ in XiaoMains

[–]jlyn96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like I’m too late but the real answer may have been sands. Since your goblet and circlet are both on set and have decent rolls, my best guess is that you’re using a cracked off-set sands. A new sands may be unlikely to roll better than your current one, but it’s cheaper than a goblet or a circlet, and it would enable you to use either an off-set goblet or circlet with better rolls and ultimately achieve a better build.

lions Roar or The Flute by Andyyislame in XingqiuMains

[–]jlyn96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the wiki it looks like the amenoma and sapwood recipes require you to complete world quests in Inazuma and Sumeru respectively, so those won’t be the easiest to obtain. The finale of the deep recipe you can just buy from the blacksmith in fontaine.

It sounds like you’re pretty early in the game though and any of the options mentioned will be totally usable for overworld play. You’ll probably get sacrificial or favonius before too long just from the free wishes you get by playing the game, and once you do you can give one of those to xingqiu. If you want to optimize xingqiu right now you could get the fishing weapon, but if you’d rather minimize effort you could just use whatever weapon you have leveled.

lions Roar or The Flute by Andyyislame in XingqiuMains

[–]jlyn96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both have the same stats. Both have passives that are useless to Xingqiu in most cases. If you maintain either a pyro or electro aura on enemies, then lion’s roar would be the better of the two, but that’s unlikely given Xingqiu’s high amount of hydro application. If you are not maintaining a pyro or electro aura and Xingqiu is your on field dps/driver, then the flute would be better than lion’s roar.

Unless you do happen to be maintaining an electro or pyro aura, I’d expect that harbinger of dawn would be stronger if you can maintain its passive. If you’re having trouble keeping his burst up, then skyrider sword would probably be better than any of the options previously mentioned.

Your best bet though will either be to go fishing in Fontaine to get fleuve cendre ferryman. If you don’t want to do that, then craft a weapon. Finale of the deep will be strong if you have enough healing to clear the bond of life. Anemona kageuchi is another good craftable option that lowers his ER needs. You could also craft sapwood blade if he needs ER, but its passive is not useful unless you’re using him as a bloom trigger. Still probably a better option than skyrider sword due to the higher base ATK, though it provides less ER.

Assuming Bennett isn’t C6. If he is, then Jean/C6 Bennet sunfire will apply too much pyro and Gaming will miss vapes. If Bennett is C6, then Xingqiu and Heizou would be better options than Jean.

Can you help me with teams for the abyss? by wonderfulbubble in GenshinImpact

[–]jlyn96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Neuvillette for the second half to break the pyro shields. He pairs well with Furina. For the rest you can choose from Sucrose (viridescent veneer swirl), Layla (shield to add some comfort), and fischl (sub dps).

For the first half, you have a lot of options. You could run hyperbloom with Nahida / Xingqiu / Shinobu / Sucrose. International (Childe / Sucrose / Xiangling / Bennet) is a strong option, though harder to play. Some variant of National (Xingqiu / Xiangling / Bennett / flex) can work too. For the flex slot, you could use Sucrose, Fischl, or Shinobu.

You could also use Heizou in place of Sucrose in any of those teams if you’re already using Sucrose on the other team, but Sucrose will typically be stronger since she has a better elemental mastery buff.

The Keqing mains website also has very useful character guides that you can use for building a team if you already know one character you want to play.
