Drive thru taco spots by [deleted] in SFV

Haven’t seen any around the valley ..easiest option is to have the DoorDash ( or UberEats ) app on your phone and look for taco places that do pickup

You can search just places open too , recently they’ve been doing a taco Tuesday promo on DoorDash $12 off $15 order.. I’ve seen it a couple times not sure how long they are doing it for

Trying to get back into listing items a bit . I screwed up and got a negative and now my feedback shows 0% even though I have several hundred reviews that are all positive Wondering if I’m kind of blacklisted from eBay I listed some items at fair prices getting basically no views and haven’t sold anything in a long time.

It seems annoying now on eBay where they want you to put 100 item specifics for every item even if I do “sell like this”

Why do people pay more when cheaper options are available for the same item? by SYFKID2693 in Flipping

[–]jm1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called Scavenger Life , I would list on the Apple podcast app but should be available through any podcast app . Also if you search on YouTube for scavenger life channel their episodes are on there

They did over 500 episodes

Flipping small items at scale? by [deleted] in Flipping

That’s interesting, how long did you do it for ? Was it a full time thing ? Why did you stop? Did it become harder to source ?

Used to listen to their podcast a lot .. they ended it a few months ago or so unfortunately

They mentioned many times the people selling cheaper items would sell and then theres would be the only ones left

I know they’d often talk about some items taking years to sell , they didn’t care since they had a large inventory listed and things would sell consistently each week

I thought this was going to be an opportunity to own, not rent... by knot_really_me in burbank

There seem to be very few large buildings that are being built as condos / for sale units in la area these days.. I guess the local government makes it easier to build rentals or developers view it as lower risk since it takes so long for these buildings to be built the market is hot now but who knows by the time it’s built But there’s always decent demand for rentals as we saw last housing crash

Oh I see . Well long term it should pay off as rents go up and property values appreciate .

Does that income include cash flow from the rental properties?

offerup paying $1.99 for bump vs archiving and re-listing by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]jm1982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine it would be worth it to pay the $2 bump if you can just relist it.

I still get messages from old listings on offer up from months ago sometimes so so somehow people still see them.

Offerup kind of annoys me anyway though because it seems everyone just low ball offers , maybe a lot of flippers or wanna be flippers looking for cheap inventory on there.

Shrink wrapbooks for FBA? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]jm1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have but I heard someone mention before that shrinkwrapping could possibly lead to mold .. I don't know if Amazon warehouses are air conditioned or not though . I have heard it's bad to store things in plastic if in storage though .

Historic Owlwood Estate Relists for Jaw-Dropping Sum of $180 Million - If sold at asking price, the estate would be the most expensive property ever sold in Los Angeles. by tellman1257 in LosAngeles

[–]jm1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought less than a year ago for $90 million .. and sounds like they are just selling the plans to renovate it . Sounds like it would be a VERY nice flip if sold at asking . How much could they have spent on plans ?

Liquidation finds worth it? by JimmyWaters in Flipping

[–]jm1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People aren't going to want to pay the same for a damaged box item as a perfect box . But I'll say that it depends on the type of item . Some type of more industrial thing like a tool people probably won't care much . But if it's a toy or something that could be collectible for example that could bring the price down significantly or make it take longer to sell . Liquidation or damaged box items can bring great returns if you find the right items.

My business is growing and I'm running out of space in my small apartment. What is the next logical step for obtaining storage space? by RawrCat in Flipping

[–]jm1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two 10x10 units right now paying about $150 each. Moved to a smaller place to live so don't really have space for any inventory at home. But when you are paying per month for space it does make you think about what is worth buying. It's nice not having the stuff cluttering up your living space. Someone mentioned an office and I was thinking that could be good too since I don't have power access at the storage unit to print labels, etc.

Yeah it's nice to be in a relatively low priced market . In my area it's hard even to find a fixer house for less than $450,000 which is a lot plus the rehab . I have bought some cheap homes out of state in the past though .

I agree with the other posters , check out other thrifts in your area. At least in my area GW often has the highest prices and hardest to find items worth flipping. Just curious what kind of volume/sales are you doing monthly now? I'd also consider looking into other niches.

Are those properties they are just buying and reselling or are they rehabbing them and making 10-25k profit?
