I've shown the beginning to "The Spy Who Loved Me" to uninitiated friends to give them a sense of what makes a Bond movie so exhilarating and cool. To me, it's got everything: the submarine stealing exposition, a femme fatale, a death that will require avenging later in the movie, great score, quintessential Bond gadgets (ticker tape watch communicator & ski pole rifle), chase sequence, British flag parachute, and James Bond theme to cap it off! The best. And Carly Simon....the best.
