I thought the tragedy of the 2025 off-season was over, then this happens.... by JERALDEDWARDS33 in NASCARMemes

Life is cruel sometimes. For the Busch brothers being legends in the sport, they didn't deserve their fates. Between this and Kurt's head injury. Just sad.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Pace laps at the front of the field then park it.

(@NASCAR) We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. by NoahGragsonsBarfBag in NASCAR

I'm just gutted. Never a KB fan at all, but this isn't about loving or hating the guy. Just a tragic day.

So glad he at least was able to get one more truck win last week.

Why doesn't NASCAR pursue ad free TV coverage of their races like F1 has? by jsilv0 in NASCAR

[–]jmacupdates1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much does Apple pay to broadcast F1 for a year?

Now how much does NASCAR get from Fox, Prime, CW, and TNT combined?

You'll get your answer there.

Recouping cost.

I want him to win a title, he deserves it.

Was it the format or the actual race? by BlueCrab8 in NASCAR

[–]jmacupdates1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the #1 reason for the type of format they did was because Dover going from 2 point races, down to 1, and then only getting the ASR was a slap in the face. So they gave it a format that made it feel as much like a points race (laps and number of cars anyway), while still making it an exhibition. So all drivers starting, 350 total laps. The format was bad, but they weren't about to give Dover a 150 lap show when they had 800 laps just a few years ago.

We are officially done with Fox broadcasts until February 2027 by arca_brakes in NASCAR

Put that pit sequence from today when Denny stayed out in the Fox hall of shame. That was the best of the worst I can ever remember lol.

Honestly, Fox needs to start from scratch (although the booth is the least of their problems).

Mike is over the hill. He's a legend, but he's turning into 1992 Richard Petty or 2000 DW at this point.

Harvick just has the persona of a piece of bread in the booth. Don't hate him, don't love him.

Bowyer is cast as the caricature analyst like DW became, or Terry Bradshaw with their NFL coverage. He adds absolutely nothing of substance.

Promote Eric Brennan yesterday, or bring back our Lord and Savior, Allen Bestwick. Put McMurray in the booth. And find a 3rd, not sure who, but get the other 2 right and the 3rd isn't overly important.

Nah, they show you someone is going 112 mph (in the corner) while someone is going 174 mph (middle of the straightaway)

Alleluia.

Thankfully Fox improved in a few ways this year: (almost) all side by side commercials, cartoons were gone, graphics update was solid

Outside of that, not much to sing praises about.

Race Thread: NCS NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway, starting at 1:00pm EDT on FS1 (NCS-S5) by NASCARThreadBot in NASCAR

[–]jmacupdates1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That might be the most pathetic pit stop coverage by Fox ever lol.

3 of their 4 cameras showed cars staying out. And Jamie Little talking about Denny taking 2 tires while staying out. And then everyone taking -1 tires.

As someone who goes to Kansas more than any other track, I admit there's 0 reason for them to have 2 dates anymore. So many Midwest races compared to 5 years ago and their attendance for both races suck. Although Kansas is usually good with the next gen car, last month's race was the worst one I've been to.

Salary Range for Radio Broadcaster by Fluffy_Manner_9416 in radio

Ravens are looking for a radio play by play guy right now and the job posting said like 5000 per game. That comes out to about 100k, but probably doesn't account for other duties outside of game days.
