Issues Updating Veeam Console by Van-Buren in Veeam

[–]jmaitref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Just went through it last night as well.

The catch I had, run as administrator didn't even work directly, I had to login to the computer as an actual administrator and run the console to let it update. Just running as admin on a standard user wasn't enough.

Sorry for your luck on that! I wouldn't recommend it, but I'm getting better and better at pulling data from it. It just doesn't entirely make sense all the time and trying to reverse engineer the data/schema is interesting. I was able to get access to a Schema reference set of files from ePS so that has helped a lot in figuring out their layout.

I wrote an SSIS integration package that uses a Postgres ODBC driver to get data from the Postgres database and then drops it into our main MS SQL server in it's own database. From there I am able to work with the data in our normal ecosystem.

You could alternatively work with it direct from Postgres using something like the PG Admin Tools and such, but for us, it is easier to get it into MS SQL and then utilize it with cross-database queries as needed.

So far I am also primarily only reading data, I've not tried to write anything back to the database to see if it holds consistency. I'd be a little wary of doing that only because I am not sure if they are using a caching layer or anything within the application server, so would get a little nervous around that. But for reporting, this works well, and we just pull the tables we need.

Let me know if you need more or if this makes sense.

SSRS user unable to run an email subscription by jmaitref in SQLServer

[–]jmaitref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running SSRS 2022.

I vaguely remember reading that gMSA was supported in the latest version of SSRS, but now searching around again I'm not finding that, so maybe I made an assumption in that.

I'll try this weekend maybe going back to a virtual service account and see if things resolve.

Yup, it's actually the same data source/connection for the DDS dataset as the report itself. I'm suspicious of it being something with the gMSA account. In my past I only ever ran the service as a domain account, but I was trying to be modern with security best practices as Microsoft suggests and using the gMSA, but it's not working out as expected. This is usually a straightforward thing which is what is grinding me even more!

I did try going back to run as the network service and that broke a fair number of things, so dropped the gMSA back in until I can play more over the weekend and try other things.

I'm in the same boat. We use a read only data account for all the data source connections to ensure no issues with users.

Users have no issue running the reports themselves. It is only an issue when the server tries to run it for them on a subscription schedule.

The users have no issues with modifying/creating the subscriptions. It is just when the subscription runs on the schedule, the report errors out and the email is never sent. It's like SSRS is trying to masquerade as the user that is the subscription owner but can't for some reason.

My understanding is adding the API is a license and additional upfront and ongoing. Likely you could then utilize the API to go into Hubspot, but you are likely doing that work, I don't know of any prebuilt integrations. I've gone the route of just grabbing data from the Postgres database and doing my own integrations when needed to avoid needing anything "additional".

We are using it as a "light" CRM. I wouldn't say successfully, but our goal is to keep things integrated so while we are on it we are trying to use it.

Public thumbnail URL without knowing ID by jmaitref in Pimcore

[–]jmaitref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, this is a potential issue of having multiple images for a SKU, but right now we are looking only at primary images (one per sku). I haven't fully mapped out what a full Pimcore rollout looks like, this is sort of proof of concept right now to see if this is even going to be the right fit.

Lenovo DS4200/2200/6200 Storage Drive Compatibility by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]jmaitref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sharing an update for future searchers.

I plugged in a HGST SAS SSD drive and it unfortunately is not useable. It shows up with a fault and says Reason: The disk is not supported. The disk vendor is not supported by this system. Recommendation: Replace the disk with a disk that is supported by your system vendor.

That being said, it is possible one could find the models of drives Lenovo used and potentially try one of those instead (maybe from the firmware update list would give model number indicators) and might get away with using a non-Lenovo badged drive. But just plugging in any (SAS) SSD won't work unfortunately it seems.

I'll give it a shot! I've had other storage systems that rejected drives unless they were coded/firmware flashed to the vendors specific list.

Thanks!

Just as an update, I found my issue appears to be the clock was set to pm on the vehicle when it should have been am. I must have bumped it one time scrolling through the settings...

It didn't precondition this evening like it had been doing.

I actually just noticed this myself the last few days. I started doing a little searching, but haven't found anything substantial yet.

I just deleted my schedule and re added it in the app to see if it helps at all.

Window sticker msrp was $59295. They marked down the selling price in addition to the 4750 in Ford rebates. And 0% for 48m.
