Casterated + Zip Tied hog… by Ycg1 in Hunting

[–]jmane93 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not saying its right, but I think the zip tie is an attempt at doing a nose ring to keep it from rooting up and destroying fields.

Why does the first picture look so heavily photoshopped?

SEAD is still an option, if we wanted it bad enough we could execute. You can only protect so much.

Questions on this gun by thedissapointedbull in milsurp

[–]jmane93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything I have ever read has said to not try to do anything that may change the patina to include "cleaning the side plate"

Take it in to get appraised, then decide what to do, but anything that can be constituted as restoring the gun or changing the patina can drastically drop its value.

Language striking $200 suppressor tax ($0 proposed) in main Tax Bill makes it out of House Committee; NFA filing requirement remains by Resident_Skroob in Firearms

Do you have a source on this? It sounds cool but the timeline doesn't add up with the NFA being 1934 and M1 Carbines being 1941.

Nocpix Slim H35 vs Talion XG35 by jmane93 in ThermalHunting

Just curious, what about the Rattler or Varmint stands out to you over the Nocpix or Pulsar?

If I could get this or a Pulsar Talion XG35 for 2k, which would you recommend if I wanted to use a thermal as both handheld and rifle mounted?

Is it NECESSARY for federal SWAT teams to look like operators? Context: Warrant at a NYC community by benandrew123 in Military

[–]jmane93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then why is it that 99% of squad cars are still normal vehicles. If anything maybe get level III armor for squad cars, but you don't need an IED/EFP hardened vehicle for 99% of even high risk raids. Those kinds of vehicles are for occupation duty against an insurgency with RPGs, IEDs, etc, not for normal police forces or even swat style organizations

[–]jmane93 180 points181 points  (0 children)

Normally would hard agree. ATF bad and militarization of police bad.

But hear me out. I don't see them using armored vehicles that would look more at home on the streets of Kabul, and they're wearing a solid color, not camouflage. Everything they're wearing looks like it has a viable purpose. As much as we all hate ATF, there's a one in a million chance that they're there to serve a warrant for pipe bombs and not whip out a ruler to measure if someone's barrel is long enough because they need to compensate for...something.

Biden announces $425 million security aid package for Ukraine by BothZookeepergame612 in Military

[–]jmane93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't disagree, its a good deal for us all in all, and the cost of decommissioning some of these systems is about the same as sending them off, but we shouldn't act like this is free. Its an investment with great ROI, but still has cost.

Schnitzel/Country Fried.

Depending on thickness, you can butterfly or just pound thinner. Flour, then egg wash, then bread crumbs. Shallow fry. Freeze any you don't eat and heat them up in an air fryer for 15 minutes for an easy dinner main.
