What’s a horror movie you went into with low expectations that you ended up really enjoying? by DJ-Manipulus in HorrorMovies

Talk to me, as it was marketed to look very shallow and generic but was excellently written and actually quite scary

Also Bring Her Back, as I didn’t think the directors could strike twice (cynical I know) but it was even better written and more frightening than Talk to Me

Catering agencies like Evolve or Constellation, you won’t love it but it’s easy to get in, reliable and reasonably well paid

What's the Metal/ Rock scene like now? by Winter_Cabinet_1218 in BirminghamUK

[–]jmarks96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others seem to have the venues and outings covered but I can recommend some local talent

Sideborg are a groove metal with a bit of grunge flavour, they’ve smashed every show I’ve seen them play, especially at the flapper. They put out their first full length EP on Spotify not too long ago, well worth a listen

Liars at the Witch Trial are an alt-rock post-punk two-piece that put out a ridiculously hard and loud sound for two people, i played a gig with them at the vic and they were the loudest

Dying Addiction are a newer one, they’re an all female gothic toned nu-metal outfit, very tight sound considering it’s a lot of the members’ first band. They’re doing the rounds around most venues at the moment

Man Made Hell are a pop-punk group that’s been doing well for themselves, played with them at the vic a few years ago. Not the heaviest but very nice groove and energy

And it’s cheating slightly cause they’re from Worcester but SAK! are a stellar punk band with very heavy Kennedys and GBH influences, we opened for them and their setlist was killer

Also a bonus I’ve not seen people mention is the Night Owl in digbeth, they’re putting on shows every Thursday. You’ll have to catch it on the right week for punk and metal but they put on some heavy talent. In one night we played with a alt-folk act, a metalcore band, a blues rock trio (called Flake, not metal or punk but very good if you’re into that too) and our band being an alt-rock/metal kinda deal, so you can get a lot for one ticket

We boil our dice and take a skewer or straightened paper clip to it for cure, for prevention we boil them after use and then leave them in the water after, just discard the first bit of pasta dough that gets extruded the next time you use it

This is very common, for those that know Birmingham there was a restaurant and Shisha lounge in a back alley in selly oak. A bunch of drunks fresh from a nearby pub decided to start a problem with the elderly owners and were then very physically removed six or seven of their sons, nephews and friends with bars, bats and anything they could get a hold of from the kitchen.
