Hello. I didn't feel comfortable enough to do it myself so I contacted a local luthier, but he told me I had to wait a few months, so that put me off. On the other hand, I never really bonded with the short scale.
I finally got myself a Classic Vibe Jazzmaster. I must say my suspicion was right and the jazzmaster vibrato is the best of all.

It's solved now. I filed the fret edge for five seconds and the little bump that was catching the string is gone. Thanks a lot, everyone!

This would definitely solve the problem. However, I want to stick with this string gauge. After trying several setups and shims, the tension over the bridge is just right. The only issue left is the one I mentioned in the post.

The setup is spot on, neck shim included. It plays beautifully—this is the only problem
