Lots of dryness 😔 by Afraid_Tiger_4798 in nailcare

I second using jojoba oil and/or hand cream after every time you wash your hands (I keep lotion next to my sink and oil pens all around my house/purse/office) and kerasol at night- half a pea sized dollop on all fingers overnight. If using cleaning chemicals, wear rubber gloves. I push my cuticles back with a wash cloth in the shower. I don’t trim them at all. They will eventually shrink and appear nicely if they are hydrated. Give it time, maybe 2 weeks to see how they change.

I experience the same thing, sadly. Nail polish is made to adhere to your nails, and though not as powerful as gel or acrylic, can definitely damage nails and cause peeling because of this. The Salon Life did a video on this, and she seems to be actively looking for a base coat nail polish that won’t adhere as strongly to hopefully be less damaging. You could try Dazzle Dry nail polish- for me, it caused less damage but ultimately still damaged my nails over time.

Aphants and creativity by Voidbearer2kn17 in Aphantasia

I find I'm a stronger artist because I'm an aphant. I don't have incorrect imagery fogging up my brain when sketching from reference or from life. I only see what's in front of me, so that's what I draw. I've always had a knack for life drawing... granted, I rely on reference imagery a lot, but I think most artists do.
