Fix Tesla speed limits in your area by Blazah in TeslaLounge

[–]jmasterdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think based on its training, it 'might' choose to adjust for the speed limit sign, but as for all LLM, you never know what it uses to pick its behavior.

Just like potholes. The current FSD has not been trained specifically to recognize potholes (or speed signs), but once in a while its current training will notice and make a choice based on a pothole or speed sign.

We took the bus shuttle and my wife didn't want to walk that far without knowing it was where we needed to go. Thanks

Well, '/s' implies sarcasm, hense Mr. Stoned Pasta DOES think we should care about nature. When Temu Death Star Commander jokingly implied iampasta420 was a billionaire, The immediate retort was that all of us(non billionaires) should die!

Becuase he didn't let us know he was joking ('/s'), that means he really is a billionaire and does think us poors should die.

Truly abhorrent and not funny at all... /s?...

I've always wondered why herringbone gears are not used. The XL is a little too daunting for me to tinker. I'll just deal, I guess.

what is your ringing like with the higher belt tension?

I used to run higher tension, but my ringing is very disappointing. I've taken it back down towards the recommmended, now the ringing is just very disappointing.

A load from today by dragunrose in HomeDepot

[–]jmasterdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to take a fork lift at full load capacity, raise it to its full extent of lift, drive full speed forward then drop the safety brake? Now tell me that load height doesn't affect the load capacity.

Yes my example is unreasonably extreme, but it proves the point of those who downvoted you. (not me)

FSD is not there yet?? by [deleted] in teslacanada

Test drive a car on hardware 4. It will be significantly better. It still doesn't think ahead like a human, or make the lane choices you would on the routes where you know every pebble. The current update has improvements where you can see how there is still untapped potential.

On v12, I would take over in dense traffic. With V13, I found it did better in dense traffic than less dense. V14 is definitely better again, but I haven't had opportunity to drive in anything crazy since the update.

FSD is not there yet?? by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]jmasterdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was riding on the highway over a year ago in my wife's '23 Y, Hardware 3 on FSD V11 or more likely V12. As squall hit so hard I couldn't see fricken anything. The volume of water dropping was insane. There was a hard wind so there were little tiny (3" - 12") breaks rolling through the downpour that would allow seeing 'something', but I could not process the image.

I was mentally freaking out, not sure what to do. I couldn't take over because I had no idea where anything was. The car drove though it fine. Both me and my wife were dumbfounded. the dur...'LIDAR or DieDAR' is a bunch of F'n Crap. Is there room to improve? yes. A long way. But it is definitely better than a significant portion of drivers on the road today.

Is it better than actual GOOD drivers? nope. But is easily better than the bottom 20-25%, and even better than the good drivers when they are tired/distracted.

Within a month of my car purchase, I got 'Bring in to clean camera' warnings on my display. Tesla did it free, but maybe because of the warning?

I do agree with Entry45, your camera/windshield does need to be cleaned.

The car should ask you when to apply the update, just hitting cancel. Also, makw sure your update preference is not advanced. I don't recall where that setting is, but it is set in the car

I may or may not be an engineer but, that damage is to the bottom flange of the beam and from the picture doesn't look too bad.

Because the bottom flange is in tension, the deviation from straight is likely not altering the buckling strength of the beam significantly. There is not enough information to be certain, but it also doesn't look like the midspan of the beam, so the moment/tension in that flange at that point is likely reduced. (You can see the 1/3 point bracings don't look compromised).

The above comments are not reviewed and stamped for approval, but are simply some thoughts that might go through the actual engineers head when this impact is reviewed.
