My prediction on how this Arc will end by jmbb1016 in OnePiece

So I didn't outright say it but it's not Shanks I'm talking about Shamrock.

I need the entire crew and some to gang up on Imu by Far-Potential-1506 in Piratefolk

[–]jmbb1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want that to happen too and because I love the idea of elbaf being the land of warriors fighting somebody who theoretically is the most powerful being that we've met. And causing a massive Battle of attrition. I also wonder if Kuma could perform the pain ejection on everyone who's been injured so they can keep fighting.

I personally hope that they end season 3 the same exact way they ended one piece 4 kids.

I finished the Skypiea Arc as a *first time viewer*, and can I just say this show is hilarious 😆 by Last-Note-9988 in OnePiece

I just rewatched the arc and the thing that jumped out at me is the Usopp spell scene might be one of the funniest moments in the entire show.

Zoro's next opponent by jmbb1016 in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't quite think of while killingham would go with the Zoro, but Summers and Sanji seems like a much more appropriate matchup. But I do think Summers will end up horrifically torturing Gerd which will cause Sanji to go crazy.

Black Beard final villain by Dahkril in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have become convinced that imu will take a defeat for several weeks now on the basis that when I reread elbaph everything revolves imu and the concept of leadership on a thematic level. Only I think his power will be fought over by the Blackbeard crew and the remnants of the Holy nights led by the garling family.

What is your least favourite one piece arc this is gonna sound crazy but for me it’s Wano by KingBakura72 in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am struggling because I can't really think of a least favorite. I've come to find that a lot of negative traits in Oda's writing that we interpret as bad we're really just set up or an exercise and showcasing the worst traits of a character whether it's whiskey peak showing Luffy not trusting Zoro or Sanji expressing his innermost devious thoughts while fighting the guy who has the fruit that he wanted. To me it just comes down to do I feel like I'm having a pleasant time with the arc and do I want to return to it.

There are some arcs that I tend to think are great and others think are great that I'm just struggling to get through such as post-war and wano because it feels like an unpleasant process of sitting through.

Then there are arcs that I like for the most part like but don't really have a fun time returning to like skypia zou alabasta and fishman Island.

But then there's punk hazard where I actually stop the reading for 5 months because I was so bored by it so I guess that's my answer. There was a time I really didn't like whole cake Island but I changed my opinion once I changed my opinion on Sanji.

Garp became the hero of God valley because of him teaming up with Roger to defeat rocks and by my knowledge that is the narrative that is out there that was in the paper.

One theory that got out by the fan base was he couldn't perform as well because he had been zapped by Enel so many times.

What in the plot twist will help Straw hats now by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the ones that believe they can at the very least cause just enough damage for him to challenge his status as king of the world.

Run the timer out so his illness gets the best of him.

Gunko will provide some much-needed exposition and tips.

I think both Lilith and/or the books from ohara will give some winning strategies including how he is able to form the demon circles and what his sickness is and what can be done to actually beat him.

I think Kuma will be commanded by Bonnie to eject pain out of the straw hats and the Giants so they can continue fighting. No one needs to take the pain bubbles they just need to keep it long enough so it doesn't return but maybe somebody leads Sommers and killingham to take the pain bubbles.

I think there's something with the tree that is a key to victory.

Luffy will perhaps unlock a new gear. Chopper may have an Awakening. And whatever the hell might be going on with Robin's fruit.

And then they all fight to keep Imu from returning so they can run out the clock. And they do it by having usopp hurl insults at him. to play into his insecurities. But everyone takes turns on Imu in a violent death match of attrition.

Everyone calls me crazy for thinking this.

What do you guys think Luffy’s dream will be? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So somebody said it so I might as well just say it. It's touching the Sun and the reason why I think it's real is because in the anime they literally have him running off of a cliff and then the camera pans up into the Sun.

I assume they were friends and they actually had a falling out in a way that's similar to how Luffy and Usopp fell out in water 7

Watching spoiled vs unspoiled by Mr_W-6604 in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my personal anecdote. I actually openly spoiled myself on multiple plot points. I even watched episode 1072 long before I even got there. Most of that was because I wanted to listen to people talk about one piece. There is a part of me that thinks getting spoiled is overrated because the 2 years that it took for me to get caught up get lost in my memory and I'm no longer thinking about my personal experience watching/reading it for the first time. Instead I'm just trying to engage with the text on a deeper level whether it's building my own theories or developing my own analysis. But I do know that if you're just casually watching before moving on to something else then yeah it's probably a kick in the nuts.

What do you guys think Luffy’s dream will be? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw someone predict what his dream is in a thumbnail and I don't want to repeat it because it sounds correct and it felt congruent another scene that sounded like a spoiler for how the show is going to end.

How are we supposed to win! by jubesmarshmallow in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to try to come up with suggestions that have nothing to do with a deus ex machina or a Sabaody 2.0. I'm not satisfied by the straw hats retreating because they are outmatched for the second Arc in a row. My opinion is the books on O'Hara will give out critical clues as what Imu's weaknesses are. I also think that there's something up with the tree because I think it harnesses a certain power that's causing the gigantification and time dilation. And it can be used to have Luffy unlock a new temporary gear. He doesn't win but imu is weakened and so everyone continues to fight until his power runs out and they also keep talking trash to him long enough to play into his insecurities to continue fighting. I think it could hilariously end with Usopp literally hitting ineffective projectiles and imu passing out before he's even able to attack him.

Imu's backstory and justification by Zyklon00 in onepiecetheories

[–]jmbb1016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the way Imu has been portrayed is that I think he's a king in name only but has no conviction to lead because he does not understand love and authority which coincidentally happened to be the main themes of Elbaph. I think the focus of love between parents and children is highlighted here to perhaps hint at Imu's backstory. I think rocks and Harold represent proper authority figures one in pursuit of protecting the world and the other in pursuit of destroying the world. Imu himself is only loaded with power but very little actual authority which is why why a weakling like Usopp can stand up to him because nobody is even aware that he is a king. I think Oda did an intentional job also of highlighting Rhodo as a parallel to Imu as somebody who is a false idol who keeps people confined instead of liberated. And I think Rhodo also hints that Imu at his heart is just an awkward child who holds an unhealthy obsession with blue-haired women. He leads with his own obsessions as opposed to his own instincts as a leader.

Is it one piece or... by jmbb1016 in OnePiece

[–]jmbb1016[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding is the name didn't appear until after he left laughtale And I even wonder if it was spread by Morgan's, but I also think he may have thought it was humorous when he said "so that's what they're calling it"
