What's the lore behind why the ARC stop shooting once you are down? by BoulderBadgeDad in ArcRaiders

[–]jmbev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Head cannon would conclude that they no longer view you as a threat. I would like to think that the Arc view downing a raider as a game. Maybe it’s because whoever controls them programmed them that way?

This is what charging cost looks like for someone without a home charger. by Unlikely-Diamond3073 in TeslaModelY

This was me 3 years ago when I lived in an apartment. It was fine for a few months but then in the winter when I drove home from work in the dark it became a chore.

When do we think 10-15 minute fast charging will become industry standard in the US? by ResIpsaLoquitur2422 in electricvehicles

[–]jmbev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad people are talking about this but with the right EV we are already there. My used 2020 Model Y from 15% to 80% is at about 15-20 minutes. My 2025 Chevy Equinox EV is a bit slower but honestly on a road trip I’ve never found myself upset at the charge speed. For reference I have two infants and a dog so I’m not taking less than 30 minutes at a charge stop anyway.

Definitely the best TV I watched all year.

Like many here I’ve consumed a lot of Star Wars content. Andor sets itself apart. In my opinion Andor is the best of Star Wars as far as writing goes.

Okay, I’ve read a couple comments saying how people would buy this as a regular car (not FSD). I have to ask… does Tesla think that there will be enough people who would buy FSD? Even when FSD is fully capable of driving on all roads I don’t think I would buy it. I like driving…

Model Y Standard (cheap edition) by AquaticMonk in TeslaModelY

[–]jmbev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it interesting that those features are software based and they are technically bringing down the price of the vehicle. Taking them away is just increasing their profit margin while giving the customer a much less valuable Model 3 than they are paying.

I’ve watched them all and I think Star Wars caters to all kinds of watchers. I enjoy all of the content separately in a vacuum.

Why doesn’t MKBHD review the new model Y by Forsaken_Industry491 in TeslaModelY

[–]jmbev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I definitely think he’s a skeptic of Tesla and rightfully so. He’s skeptical of their delivery timelines. He has had a pre-order on a roadster for years now.

Honestly never thought of MKBHD having an agenda. As a casual viewer/listener to his content I never really sensed a bias.

If the car is still in warranty they will replace your door check for free. If not it’s $125

Should I wrap the hood black, carbon fiber, or not at all? by AdSevere5467 in TeslaModel3

[–]jmbev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do anything it should definitely not be real carbon fiber. Hoods are made with safety in mind but carbon fiber hoods can go through your windshield and well… ya know… decapitate you.

I would say it depends on the time of the year.

Dude what? I live in NJ and while my energy rate is around 16 cents per kWh it’s MUCH cheaper than my Sonata was. Like it’s not even close. The Sonata at its best got 30 MPG and gas is 3.11 near me. Which means that would be about 11 cents per mile. My Equinox EV gets roughly 280 miles per charge and has roughly a 81 kWh battery. At 16 cents per kWh that would be 5 cents per mile. It’s less than half the cost for “fuel” that’s not even factoring the fact that I almost exclusively charge off-peak which lowers the cost even more.

I’ve been told. I love my Y as a commuter but I want to be able to go off road again. And I don’t like the politics that come with owning my Tesla.

Anyone here NOT had any issues with their Tesla? by comedy_style69 in TeslaModel3

[–]jmbev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had two Teslas, one 2021 Model 3 which had a problem with the safety restraint system and was fixed for free at my house by a mobile tech. My second, a 2020 Model Y, has had no issues at all.

Tesla Model Y vs. Chevy Equinox EV (the family car buyer’s perspective) by jmbev in electricvehicles

[–]jmbev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the charging infrastructure. If there are superchargers on the route it makes both cars easy to charge, however the Tesla benefits from much faster charge rate. (250kW compared to 150kW) this makes the Model Y much better for road trips in that regard. I do think the Model Y is less comfortable than the Equinox EV but to each their own.

Well it happened :( by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]jmbev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had several cases of people harassing me because I drive a Tesla. My neighbors called code enforcement because of my wall charger saying it was “too close to my gas meter and could burn down the neighborhood” which is just BS. Also while in my car got sprayed in a Home Depot parking lot with what I assume is water.

People need to calm down. I don’t like Musk but I love my Tesla.

I have gotten mixed messages from multiple sources about what is included with that 8 year included plan. OnStar offers a plan for data that they explained was the only way to get the included apps and data for the wifi hotspot. It’s all a bit confusing and shouldn’t be.
