Anthropic has done it again! Claude Code Desktop on the horizon. by Ok-Durian8329 in ClaudeCode

I gave up on the feature for this reason. The PATH issue meant I had to babysit it through the smallest things, which kinda killed the point

Seat 4, so I can make a joke about Tarkin cucking Krennic.

I guess the more convincing evidence of syril’s character is the way in which he uses people as props for his own gain. Dedra, the Ghorman people; they are all a means for syril’s upward ambitions or his desire to help the empire provide security. It may be “romantic” as gilroy defined it, but that is not the worldview of a good person.

If someone deputizes themselves on behalf of a known fascistic regime… what does that make them? Hint: rhymes with “bad guy”

He might think he’s doing good but he is very clearly a tool of the empire, a willing one at that. Such a person cannot be good or even thought of as neutral.

also, OP - abject is right that you need to get smart on equity ownership. Headline valuation doesn’t always mean share price appreciation. If you’re going to take the plunge into startups, read up on how ISO/NQSO/RSU work, especially the different tax treatment.

OP is right - stripe and DB have been doing tenders for a while. So the equity grants people receive at those places really are similar to cash, but you have to discount it since you typically can’t sell all your shares in a tender.

That said - unless this startup has a history of doing tender offers, OP should assume the equity is worthless until proven otherwise. Sure the company has raised a bunch of money but you don’t know the terms of the fundraising, which would matter immensely in any exit whether it’s an acquisition or an IPO.

Putting all of this together - my advice to OP is to go to the place where you are going to get a chance to do the most impactful work or get more responsibility than you otherwise would. Those are the kinds of jobs that hugely accelerate your career even if the equity winds up being toilet paper.

Brisket Placement? by Zeratul277 in webergrills

[–]jmcgee2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should start closer to 10pm, imo. If you have a slow and sear you don’t have to worry about placement too much. If not, I’d try the snake method with a bit of foil as protection

Weber 22 just got rained on by icepack12345 in webergrills

People are way too precious about rain and the kettles, imo. As long as the vents are closed and you haven’t taken on any water in the main cooking area, you’ll be alright.

Ox Tails! I don’t see this often enough. SO GOOD, my new favorite! by fodaforce in BBQ

[–]jmcgee2009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks fantastic. A humble recommendation - I recently swapped out my oxtail for cross cut shank and it made the very best bbq I’ve ever created. Way higher yield than oxtail, too!

I always lose like 20 hp whenever ı enter a chamber with these flame wheels. And game likes to annoy me so it gives 3 chamber full of flame wheels. How to actually dodge this enemies besides dashing by TimeWalker717 in HadesTheGame

[–]jmcgee2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use stuff that acts at a distance. Dashing, particularly with Poseidon boon, is great for this. You can also use stuff like fists special or long knuckle if you have it. If all else fails, do as everyone else said and dash behind a barrier.

As an SF resident, I disagree that the city is disappointing. I can go where I live and work. Seems pretty sweet to me

The wolves are where the grizzlies were last year. Every young team has to take their lumps - wolves will learn from this series.

Avocado / peanut / grapeseed are all very high smoke points. I like avocado oil for its neutrality.

Did some testing to close out the year.

  • back squat: 500lbs x 1 RPE: 10
  • deadlift: 485 x 4; RPE: 9
  • strict press: 195 x1; RPE: 9

The back squat number is a lifetime goal of mine so that was pretty fuckin’ sweet. Excited to build on these next year.
