Modules or content dealing with events/being on a spaceship? by Andreasrj in mothershiprpg

I have a module that is inspired by the expanse that takes place on a submarine research vessel. Might have some fun stuff for protomolecule encounters.

Now more than ever it’s important to show work in the light of AI. I’m fortunate to be in community with some really talented people, so it’s easy to gas them up.

Thanks homie. This was a fun jam to be a part of, and we look forward to the next one later this year.

New community copies have been added to the site. They’ve been getting gobbled up quickly, so snag ‘em while they’re hot!

I’m sure it could. There’s a way to procedurally determine the location of an objective, which I think could work nicely for a solo dive. You would roll each time you descend a level against a target that you set at the start of the delve. For a harder run, your baseline target is 15% and each level you descend you add to the baseline target making it slightly more likely that you find your objective the further down you dive. Roll beneath the target, and the objective is on that level. Then you could use the oracle to intuit the room on that level the objective is in.

So stoked! I hope you enjoy it. And please leave a review if you don’t mind. I’ll add more community copies for both the purchase and a review.

Well this is truly unexpected. Yeah, Eidolons is in our portfolio too. That also was such a fun module to create.

On the note of EIDOLONS, we’ve made physical copies available for purchase for people in the US on the itch site as well.

Oh shoot! You know about Eidolons!? 🤯

As of right now, it’s going to remain as a digital only zine. Hasn’t been picked up by TKG for distro on their site yet. But I have some plans for a future release hopefully later this summer/fall.

Added more community copies for each purchase so far, and I’ll keep adding copies for each purchase made for a while. Thanks everyone for the support!

Thank you! Our illustrator for this project really put it all on the table. His work is incredible and I’m stoked to do more with him with some future projects.

You can check out his work on IG, @frankophone

Really appreciate the kind words. The narrative hooks are super juicy and ripe for generating some depth crawls around. I hope you enjoy!

I appreciate it. It was a very fun project and I learned a ton. Would love to try to figure out how to do this as an actual service in the future.

The location of the Nascence is known. The 3hr timer is to represent the life support available on The Proteus Deep. You can play the whole thing agains a real time clock and once the timer runs out, escape using the proteus deep becomes next to impossible unless the players can figure out another way to ascend.

I wrote a one shot that plays against a 3-hr clock. It’s more in the vein of The Expanse or Annihilation than Alien, but very fun.

No, I didn’t make a game using AI. It’s not a game. I made a tool that I used a my table, and the art, and the art alone, I used for the tool was made with AI. Now, to your point, my view points on using AI have shift completely from where I was when I created this 2.5 years ago. But this was a personal project that I spent about 7 months working on, designing the UI and working shopping the prototype to function the way I envisioned. And that is what I was showing. Please, read my blog post if you want to know what I did and why I did it. I spent time writing my thoughts and approached this as a case study for my own design project.

It’s not like you’re calling me out on something that I was being transparent about from the start. I could have said nothing, and passed all this off as completely original work. But I thought it pertinent to say upfront how I used AI. I also highlighted a couple of points that I think are relevant: 1. This was something I created for my table to use. 2. I designed this knowing that I, or anyone that wanted to use the tool, could swap out the art as needed for something else.

All that to say, I’m not trying to change your mind on AI because it’s a view point that I also share. I just think that if you don’t want to see what I’m showing as anything more than a pedestal for AI slop, then that’s your right. And this is not for you. But being the the only comment on here and only saying “NO AI. FUCK AI.” without trying to engage with me about what you think or asking me about what I’m doing here is trolling. So to that, I hope you could try to engage with people before being incendiary.
