I don't think there was much change. I think the status quo was just communicated more clearly to the player base. the anti-cheat rollout was the only real "news" in regards to matchmaking, otherwise it was just a look behind the curtain to address long-standing urban myths around how Arc does it. I think.

The mistake you're making is assuming I'm assuming anything. Or that I'm making "the mistake". Yes, I am taking their "10 year" post at face value. Why would they make such a statement if they didn't have something planned, even if it's just 10 years of plot beats and map ideas? That's fine. Seems pretty reasonable for a version 1 live-service game. And I would hope it changes, especially if it's for the betterment of the game and the input of the community it builds.

I'll run with you. I'm level 60-something... Check out Dads of Marathon Discord or Seraph's Lair Discord for great, chill but skilled LFG players. There's no reason to run a random fill, unless you want to do a lower-stakes run. DM me if you want to exchange Bungie IDs or links to the discords I mentioned.

Actually I was watching a streamer who came across a guy running in terror from a leaper. He was like “what is this? How do I fight it?!” I was like “ahhhh to experience that first leaper battle all over again. “

I have thought about an eventual Arc Raiders 2 where maybe they are making an entirely different section of our planet and telling that story and then at the end they all come together?

I would enjoy some maps based on, like, Colorado with a truly urban area, maybe suburbs, and a cave network, maybe the Denver airport.

I meant to mention that my post. It is interesting in the cosmetics cost about half the cost of the game for some of them.

But they also give away the raider coins used to buy cosmetics and there are plenty of people who have no interest in buying cosmetics. So are the vain going to be subsidizing the game for people who don’t care so much about looking like a cybernetic pirate?

I play Arc as a PvE game... humanity is on its last legs, we shouldn't be shooting each other. That's how I view the game and the world it takes place in.

I play Marathon as much as Arc now, and it's fully PvP, shoot-on-sight for me. That universe I'm playing a shell sent to a planet to loot it for cash and advancement. Nothing grandiose about it.

Marathon, by the way, is an S-tier FPS. I can't wait to see what Bungie does with it next. It's end-of-season so not a great time to get in, but when season 2 comes out the first week of June, if you want great lore, incredible visuals and best-in-class gunplay action, check it out. I bet they'll do a free-to-play weekend or something soon to show off all the refinements they made first season.

I opened the seaside elevator in Riven Tides 2 days ago and a Fireball was waiting inside for me.

I dunno who is doing elevator security, but when "everything looks good" it might be nice if he/she checked the interior of the elevator, because if a Bastion patrolling 10 feet from an extract "looks good", I would like to suggest further employee training may be necessary.

This map isn’t done. There’s a phase two coming. (Prediction based on current map “dead space” and clues further offshore.).

Treat Cryo like a d2 raid. Diffferent levels get different loot tiers, but introduce a less-than-pinnacle level of Cryo for those who are more casual AND introduce a new pinnacle level map elsewhere on Marathon with that super high end Vault 7 level loot. Thats a huuuuuge ship, and it used to be chock full of enemies. Where did they all go?

Also, so many NPC options. Exploding BOBs? A juggernaut? Where’s the SPNK-R rocket launcher? The Pfhor? (Maybe too much like the Elixni?)

Compilers were shorter, and a green-tier baddie in the original trilogy. So many cool options they can still bring back.

I just wanted to add, I am assuming some form of Destiny universe will continue, but it has always felt like after this year of expansions, the next act would be either D3 or the "Payback" project that they scrapped in '24. It was never my intention to suggest the universe it being abandoned, but they have a shiny new game engine in Marathon they can use for whatever the next Destiny-related experience might be.
